For all you bikers out there...

Was driving home with my girl after a great dinner meet up with some friends and saw a bunch of people running back and forth up the road ahead. Put on the flashers and kicked on the high beams to see what was up, and when we got closer saw a guy lying in the middle of the road with blood all around him that looked to have come from his head and basically all torn up. Saw his bike in the middle median between some trees the front end totally messed up and looking really bad. Was gonna pull over and see what was up but I saw an ambulance coming up behind me and there were already about 20 people there so we drove by slow and my girl started to freak out. Knew instantly the guy was dead and it took a while for my girl to calm down. She'd never seen a dead person before like that. Dont know if he was hit by a car or if he was acting stupid but he might still be alive if he had a helmet on. So to any fellow riders please ride with a helmet, it could possibly save your life when things happen unexpectedly.

Re: For all you bikers out there...

that sucks, but anybody who rides without a helmet on is asking for tragedy. i think it's absurd that it is legal to ride without a helmet in some places.

and since he didnt wear one, you (and all those other people) had to see a disturbing scene as well as the people who have to clean him up..not to mention what he put his family through. riding without a helmet is so unbelievably stupid.

speaking of horrid bike scenes...i recently went through this website..

Live to Ride - Ride to DIE

there's some sick stuff especially at the bottom and some videos...the "harley vs. dump truck" one sucks since the guy was at a redlight just sitting there etc..and he survivedd...

makes me want to just ride on a track after looking through some of it.

werd.

proper gear (proper jacket, helmet, riding boots) probably would have helped immensly.

i would never ride a bike without the above, doing so is just darwanism in motion.

Re: For all you bikers out there...

One of my supervisors at Dell got tore up real bad one day because of a semi-trailer parked in the middle of the road. He had some brain damage and had a hard time remembering a lot of our names at first.

If it wasn't for his gear and helmet, no doubt he would be dead.
