i was in super stop & shop today when i was challenged in my shopping cart. a lady in her mid 40s was playing cat + mouse with me throughout the supermarket. i knew she was a ricer, because on the front of her cart there was a "30 cents off bagel bites" decal, but i checked her cart, and bagel bites were nowhere to be found). when we finally made it to the produce section i knew the cold air should speed me up. i pushed my cart while i had one foot on the wheel to get a good launch. but no! a cleanup in aisle 4 was called (the produce aisle) and i realized there was a spill of some juice so i spun my wheels throughout 1st. i opened the flower i had in my cart and poured it on my RW's so i could get some better traction (i swear the other lady had slicks, because she was already a 1 and a half carts ahead of me). i started gaining on her though (she was weighed down because she had a baby in the front seat). we were tied around the pudding (half way mark) and we both started throwing out unneccessary items, we were tossing heavy things like milk, juice, and canned goods (making a total mess). i was a half a cart ahead of her near the finish line, and she knew what she had to do. she tossed her baby out and started gaining on me when the manager got in our way. he wrote us both up for aisle racing, destruction of food items, with a fine of suspending our stop + shop rewards cards for 30 days and escorted us to the checkout line. oh well, throughout the day i was 3-2, so i still did good.
haha seriously though, any of you race shopping carts? i love cutting people off, weaving through old people, and drifting all over the place. supermarkets are fuN
