Re: any good downloading programs?

Download either uTorrent or BitComet. I usually use Scrapetorrent.com to search, as it searches all the torrent sites.

P2P is dead. Torrents are not.

Re: any good downloading programs?

also, there are sites you can get membership to that tracks how much you upload/download... that way you get optimum speeds but at the cost of having to seed to ratio.

Re: any good downloading programs?

Yes get Utorrent or azureus and make sure you download torrents that have about the same seeders/leechers. A torrent with 20 seeds and 1000 leeches is going to be sloooow.

Also on what Wiarumas said, I would join a members only site that tracks your up/down. Its a small price to pay for the security of knowing the files you are getting are not infected with a virus since everything is moderated on those sites. i was on demonoid.com for awhile but they were shut down. I had over 40gb of random downloads there and not once did I get a bad download.

actually what you want to find is one with the maximum amount of seeders to leecher ratio. depending on how new the torrent is or popular this may be hard to come by.

mpthreas and pr0nz!

in case you missed it, P2P (such as Napster, Kazaa, WinMX, Morpheus) are all dead or dying. P2P is a dying format because the RIAA has found ways to infiltrate them and find suppliers and send subpoenas, because they are greedy money-hungry bastages.

Torrents are the new wave of the future man! they are alot harder to track, alot harder to see who is sharing what information, mostly because of how the information is shared, nobody is actually downloading (leeching) or uploading (seeding) a full file, they are just sending pieces of it. its like me just giving you a single page of the new Harry Potter book, one page is useless and im not breaking any law, but when you are downloading 1 page from 600 people you get the full book, and then its all compiled so you can read it from the first to last page. thats basically how it works. unlike P2P, which would be like me handing you the full book and saying "you dont know me, we were not here, and my name isnt Thomas!" which when you think of it, really isnt illegal either, it was my possession and i am not charging you for the copy.

Re: any good downloading programs?

Thomas you put it nicely I will say. I meant though that you shouldn't be trying to get a file with tons of leechers and no seeders. I figured it would be self explanatory that the more seeders to leechers you have the better, vice versa just gets worse and worse.
