Question How many Miles are on your Mustang?

How many miles are on your Mustang? Or your past Mustangs?

My friends new 2011 V6 Mustang just threw a rod with only 12k miles on it, and my 1999 Gt did the same thing at 72k miles. But a guy I went to high school with has a 98 Gt with 230k original miles and he drives the **** out of it.

Just curious to know the average miles out of these cars, doesn't matter if it's a V6, Gt, or Cobra ect. Just wondering.

Thanks for any input.

My 99 had 143k when it got totaled last february. Never had any problems with it except the tranny was rebuilt at 132k.

My 02 GT currently has 59k put 16k on it since i bought it last March.

My '00 V6 had ~217K when it threw a rod. My '94 has had 234449 miles on the odometer for atleast 4 years.

2012 GT with 10,200 miles, no major mechanical issues yet but my car is nearly new. I've got a 2000 Dakota with a 408 stroker and a turbo. Its got 80k mi. It's been rebuilt twice... It's basically a street legal sleeper but I blew it up on NOS and then with a P1SC Procharger before going turbo. I'm hoping this 5.0 holds the power better when I put a blower on it.

Re: How many Miles are on your Mustang?

2006 Mustang Pony convertible - bought it in April 2006. 4.0L V6, automatic.

Had a 75 shot of nitrous on it from 2007 to 2009 at the track. Then put the Xcharger Xtreme on it at 90,000 miles.

Today it sits with 202,500 miles on it, and still runs 12's at the track.

Very few problems, stock top and bottom ends. At 189,000 I had to replace the alternator. At 199,880 I had to replace the plastic thermostat housing. At 150,000 I replaced the water pump. This spring I did the ball joint/a-arms and replaced the steering rack since it was easier to replace the whole assembly than the tie rods and I pulled a 10,000 mile rack off a Roush.

Re: How many Miles are on your Mustang?

67k on my 03...haven't done a thing to it other than basic maintenance.

For the most part, any engine will last for many hundreds of thousands of miles with proper maintenance and care (not beating on it every time you drive it).

However there are some engine designs that just don't allow it...those 04/05 5.4 Tritons in the F150's are a good example. Guys were locking up engines at 30k

Complete mystery. Just bought my step dads 1969 fastback a month ago. Obvious the engine and most of everything else is fairly new. Wish he put in a 351 Cleveland or even a 302 boss but it's just a basic 302. Still runs pretty strong though pulling 15.59 on the quarter mile.
