Daytona 500

So did anyone watch the Daytona 500? It was awesome! I'm not a huge fan of Ryan Newman personally, but looooove me some Dale Earnhardt Jr.! Go #88, hopefully it's a good year for him!!! It looked like it was going to be Tony Stewart, but Ryan Newman pulled ahead of him at the end. I'm definitely a NASCAR Girl and am soooooo excited the season is now open! We went to Talladega a few years back and it was the BEST time ever, I can't wait to go back! I definitely want to go to Daytona and Vegas in the next few years too.

I know, I know...I hear the look, I'm turning left...and left again comments, but I loooove it! I'm definitely a speed junkie at heart and love when boys get down and dirrrty with their cars, lol. Outside the short tracks and road races, I totally love it and can't wait to go to another race.

Anyway, hopefully it's an exciting season!!! I definitely love Sundays again!

Re: Daytona 500

I am a huge fan of all forms of racing, drag, stock car/oval, road course, autox, dirt track, etc. etc. etc....

EXCEPT...drifting...Drifting has to be the stupidest form of "racing" the world has ever seen...

and Brad, all forms of auto-racing require skill...you've take your car(s) to the track...you should know that first hand...

*EDIT* Damn Casey Mears!!!! The little bastard cost Jr. the race...

Re: Daytona 500

lol, good one Thomas. Different strokes for different folks I guess? haha.

That's awesome, Brent! I hope to get there next year too. Talladega is definitely my fave.

And Nicole, I hear ya girl! What do you think of him growing out his hear a little this year? I think he's adorable, but I'm definitely a Dale Jr fan!

Re: Daytona 500

Dale Jr. had a great race in the 88. Hopefully next race his teammates Johnson and Gordon can stay in the race long enough for the win. Still it was a great race.

Re: Daytona 500

I just gotta rock the boat. I'll be honest, nascar is a good show to fall asleep on a sunday afternoon to. Just need a buzzer when they have wrecks so I don't miss the good parts.

youre not watching it right.

how fun is it watching a football game if you have no care whatsoever about who wins? the only people who cared about the superbowl this year were Giants fans or Patriots fans, if you didnt care than you were just in it for the commercials. Same goes for nascar, if you dont have a driver you are rooting for, you are just watching it for the wrecks.

next time you are watching the race, try to favor a driver and watch them through the grid, work their way up the grid, and fall back, how and when they pit, and where they are good at. i guarantee afterwards you will most likely become a fan.
