Game lag

Heres a question for ya.

2 weeks ago I installed this game on my computer. When i installed it it said my requirements to run the game were beyond what I needed.

So logical thinking would be if the computer said that. Then I should have no problem playing the game. Right?

Apparently not. Whats happening is; Everytime I start playing the game is perfectly fine. The graphics are set at the best they can be, and its running great. After a half hour or so. The computer starts to lag horribly.

Its bugging the crap out of me because I cant finish the game.

Any suggestions on why this is happening???

Re: Game lag

memory leaks in the programming perhaps...

might also be a driver issue since its a bit older of a game. what are your specs exactly?

Re: Game lag

I had an issue with this and an older game, after reinstalling XP..

I ended up rolling back my system, removing all the dll/system files that had been installed in the few days between where it was working fine and then not..

reinstalled the programs and its been fine since..

it'd be worth a try at least, you don't lose anything but the programs you'd installed after the time you select to roll back to

Re: Game lag

i got this too when i installed NFS:Carbon. played great for a few minutes, but starts to get laggy/choppy. What i did was install the newest driver, and add more airflow around my video card, the air from the 8800GTX got stagnant and nowhere to go, i rigged a fan to push air out to the outside of the case, and another intake fan that pushed air into the intake area of the viceo card. i also reinstalled the game on a faster SATA3.0 drive instead of the drive that contained VistaUltimate.

My computer did the same thing with that game and it was time for us to buy a new computer so I bought a new HP Pavillion w/ a NVIDIA graphics card and the game runs fine. Good Luck and Good Game.

Re: Game lag

Just having the minimum requirements for hardware doesn't mean anything. You probably have a bunch of other **** running in the background.

Re: Game lag

yeah, how much RAM do you have and how much is being used... What kind of Video Card do you have also? if it's 256mb card then i'm willing to be it's sucked bone dry after running the game for a while...

Re: Game lag

not to mention that the "stock" video cards you buy in retail stores are a joke when it comes to gaming... they really aren't that great of cards (unless its an overpriced alienware or xps or whatever they are calling it nowadays)... but thats an older game and if i recall correctly i had it running fine on a 8500le... or maybe it was a 5900xt... or in other words, a good, but older card. it has to be related to your drivers, RAM, or its an older game that isnt a high performer on newer systems. for example, i got a pretty decent computer that can run oblivion, fear, crysis, etc, but it ran an old, old, old RTS called battle realms at about 5 fps. no idea why.

Re: Game lag

Thanks for all the help. Its fixed. Turns out the game has horrible memory leaks . I did some googling , and found a patch for it. The games runs abosultely sweet now. I have it on the highest graphics settings. No problems at all.

I just wanted to play the game for the story line, before force unleashed comes out.lol. Never thought it would have been a problem.
