Any Military In Here

I am currently enlisted in the U.S. Navy. I was just curious to see how many service members we got here that share a commitment to this country and have a passion for their Mustangs.

I am not yet enlisted but I think I will join the National Gaurd soon. Still doing research. So far I have learned that I can do no harm to myself with it.

They got it right: Send all the officers to fight and the enlisted stay on base!

Though I would also go into the navy as well, my late grandpa joined the navy in World War 2. He wasn't drafted, he just enlisted. He felt it was the right thing to do, and he was on the USS California. It got hit by 1 kamikaze plane but still held strong throughout the rest of the war I believe. He was one of those guys down below positioning ships on that large see-thru glass pin pointing positions.

In my opinion some of the bravest guys in WWII were the sailors, on land a person could run duck and hide as needed....Where you gonna go on a ship! Just sit there and pray you are not ground zero for the zero!

Wow no thanks needed, they are paying me good. I got medically retired after my two tours. It works for me, though I am only 30% the benefits are great. Uncle Sam got his and compensated me well! The college was well worth it, I am almost to my BS in CJ and will start working on Masters in Psychology (criminal/ abnormal psych) in 2009. I am stoked!

I recomend the Military, espc the Navy, for any one. It is awesome to serve the country and benifits are great! I do however thank all those still in and miss the life...

Anchors Aweigh and stay haze gray and under way brother! Thank you for your service and come home safe man!

Re: Any Military In Here

My father (God rest his soul) served over 30 years in the U.S. Army, finishing with rank of Colonel.

Grandfather served in the Army too, and daddy was born while he was in Germany for WWII.

They are the ones who got me started on Mustangs!

Daddy and I even had our own project; my '94 vert, and his '66 fastback.

Not in the Military and if i could go back to the age of 18 I'd join. Both of my Grandfathers were also in WWII, one a medic and one a hellcat pilot. I have most respect for you guys! Thank your for your service!

They are to be given the utmost respect also. If it wasn't for them we could be in far different circumstances. I honor all military, past, present and future. Without them we would have no freedom. GGBIW

Re: Any Military In Here

Actually I am in a job that is not my career field. I cross-flowed into a Public Affairs job here in Okinawa. We are very busy right now. We are dealing with that alleged rape of the 14 year old girl by a Marine and other things. Our base was locked down for 2 weeks and some of the restrictions have been lifted. Its busy here!
