Re: McCain may not be eligible to run
I have experienced this argument personally...I was born in Nuremburg, Germany on an Army Base...Not that I am into politics or have any desire to become president, I have had this argument with people before...
Even though there is no "set precedent" to determine whether or not someone born overseas as a "military brat" is or is not a "natural citizen" as far as presidency goes, it would be completely and utterly foolish for our judicial system to declare McCain ineligible because of it...The reason being that if they were to decide that he cannot become president because he was born on a military base outside the main 50 states, it would basically be saying that "Someone who was born on a military base/hospital outside of the main 50 states is less of an American than someone who was born in the 50 states"...and I, personally, would take great offense to that as I am just as much an American as anyone else in this country...Implying that I or anyone else who are born to parents that dedicated their lives to serving this country are less of an american citizen than anyone else would be complete and utter blasphemy...And I do believe that that would be a precdent that no judge on this earth would want to set...You would essentially be segregating Americans into groups of "Pure-breads", "Half-Breads", etc...And that is a type of segregation that goes against everything that this country was founded on....
