Truck vs stang

My dad has a 03 dodge 3500 qually flat bed 4x4 and he always talks about how fast it is. Well hanging out at his house this afternoon I decided I'd see what was up. We have a private road on our land so it's NOT. Street racing I figured I'd show him what a mustang could do.

That truck DESTROYED me.. . He probably had 3 cars on me by the time I hit 90. I was feeling pretty ashamed until he told me he's pushing like 1,600 torque and over 600HP to the wheels. Holy crap. I honestly have been around this truck since before I could drive and never knew it was such a monster...

I'm still getting over my shock

I'm not sure he knows everything lol. He said its got a new clutch and trans. Rear end. Some chip thing with huge injectors he doesn't know what all is done to it he bought it pretty much how it is except for the trans and clutch. It's one mean truck tho. I wish I had a list of what was done because I'd love to have one!

1600tq sounds impossible without extensive modification, but I'm not very schooled on what they're capable of.

The new ones have over 800 stock from the factory. I think the 03's have 555 or something with the high output 24v engine.

1600 sounds insane tho.

That's at 1,400 RPMs too..

Well, they sell a triple turbo setup for those things ... I kinda want to do a twin setup on my 7.3. If it makes you feel better, I've seen several diesels run 10 or 11 second quarter miles. One guy ran an 11 second quarter and then hooked the trailer back up to pull his "fast car" home.

Thats the thing about diesels, they lay down so much power with a tuner its almost unreal. I seen a duramax at the strip one time try to launch in 4 wheel drive with slicks on all 4, his whole trans fell out not even 5 feet from the light tree! Haha! Needless to say, he didn't drive that home.

I'd say more like 1200 to 1300 hundred with the torque usually the torque is round double the hp on dodge....but unless he was off on his hp number an it's 800 then it sounds right but if I remember right the 12v would lay down way over double on torque

I wanna take it to a dyno and see what's really going on. He took it to one and they said it maxed out their torque on the dyno at 1,600 RPMs so they couldent give him the real number. This was years ago tho

Re: Truck vs stang

Those Cummins engines really are no joke, those things are designed to create torque and put it to the ground. With the right modifications it is possible to get them at 1500HP and TQ.
