Pissed...

I hate inconsiderate people....gave a ride to a co-worker that couldn't afford gas money. He threw his cigarette out of the window and I didn't see the cigarette in my back seat until I got home. Now, I smoke as well but you could never tell....my car is always clean. WTF...now there is a nickel size burn on my back seat. The guy can't afford gas so I know he can't afford to fix it. Any suggestions as to how to fix a cloth seat?

So you encourage littering? Nice to know you care...

About the car, don't let people smoke in your car and you don't get burns. It's amazing how that works.

Did I say anywhere in my thread that I encourage littering? You know that guy that walks across the street to pick up trash and put it a trash can? That's me....

I smoke in my car...sure do...my commute is 90 minutes each way. Better than being on the phone or texting...and everybody has an addiction. It just happens that mine is visible to everyone. Have a great night

Re: Pissed...

Do you keep the butts in the car or throw them out the window? If you throw them out the window you litter.

You apparently had no problem with him throwing his butt out the window, I find it slightly amusing the wind decided to foil the littering plan and burn your back seat.

I too have an addiction, it's not smoking however.

He asked for help. Regardless you could try and patch it however you could re upholster the seats. Or if you dont need the backseat do a backseat delete

You know...I wasn't going to write a dissertation on the minute details...it wasn't the point. Yes, I smoke. I keep a can in the car.... Which was why I was upset as well...didn't think it was pertinent.

Re: Pissed...

Sorry, I toss pennies at the windshields of cars that throw cigarettes out. One of my pet peeves.

As far as the burn, you can probably find a replacement seat for next to nothing at a junk yard. You'll always be able to see the burn otherwise.

That's Juvenile. Flicking a bud, littering in general is one of my pet peeves as well. When I had my accident, I picked up all the pieces including all the tiny plastic pieces of my headlight.

You ever try confronting a litter bug? I have. I've confronted people at intersections and even at the beach. If you get in someones face and yell at them to pick it up, when they're done ****ting themselves, they'll pick it up.

Majority of people litter not saying I encourage it but no matter how hard the environmentalist and others try to stop it, it will still happen. But for the burn they sell patch kits or try a junkyard tht might have it

I don't smoke, but I do believe there is something in cars called an ash tray, I'm sure that would suffice as a place to put the butts... Not accusing anyone, just bringing up something no one else has brought up in this thread.

They don't come standard with ashtrays, but many many cars you find at dealerships will still have them.

He said he has a cup and expects his passengers use it. I'd be pretty pissed no one smokes in my car. But I'd see a professional they can make it better than new.

Re: Pissed...

Lol I'm very, very strict with my passengers.

1) No smoking in my car (I don't smoke.)
2) No drinking in my car, especially alcohol (I'm not a drinker, and I'm not fond of the smell.)
3) No eating in my car (They're always short trips, so wait til we reach our destination.)
4) Try to break one rule, and you'll have to call a cab.
5) Sit back, shut up, and enjoy the ride lol

I'm sorry to hear what happened to your backseat. That's just irritating....

I hate it when someone smokes in my car because it smells like it for days. I don't have any problems with smokers, just decided I don't want to do it. I don't open drinks in my car because the only cup holder I have in my car is the one that flips out of the center console compartment, which is somehow not broken. People tossing butts out the window doesnt really bother me because there are bigger problems than that in this world.

I have a lot of friends who smoke. Some do it while driving with the windows down, and others prefer to just stand outside and puff. It doesn't bother me as long as they keep the stuff away from my car. We respect one another, and that's good enough for me

Lol yeah, I'm 5 ft 2, so people can fit behind me just fine. But even so, I wouldn't mind losing the backseat; I really don't use it all that much.

I'm a smoker and refuse to smoke in my own cars, so nobody else does. I once dated a cute girl who wanted to smoke in my Cadillac because it was cold outside (I would stand outside and smoke, always)... made a big deal of it even, needless to say she didn't smoke in it, but not for lack of trying. I didn't see her anymore after that, it showed disrespect, and I wasn't going to have a woman like that. You need mutual respect, she didn't make the cut, no matter how cute she was.

I guess you could say i'm kind of strict about it.

Your friends and coworkers need to respect you, because it's your vehicle, and your call.
