Wow. You ran .7 sec slower but had more mph. You definitely would have smoked the first pass.

You would have definitely been a bit faster if it hadn't of went up in smoke.
Something that will help your traction next time you go, when you pull into the staging lane, try to get your tires exactly in the rubber tracks left by earlier vehicles. That's where the best traction can be found.

You will beat your 14.5 by a good bit when you get it all sorted out.

Well bad thing was they just reheated the track and had all the full blown drag cars and diesels burning out on it so it wasn't as tacky as it was earlier when I did my first pass too. the temp was dropping quick as well.

Once I saw my mph on that second pass I knew I would have been in the 13s which the guy on the line asks me if I was sure it wasn't gonna go 13.9 and I said nope, last time I was here with an auto in it I could only get 15.1 so I'm just hoping for a 14.5 which is exactly what I ran the first pass lol.

I really wanted to go again cuz I felt I could hit the magic number 13 if I went but the line was backe up big time. maybe next year

Look on the bright side. You now know it will run faster, use this winter to make as many improvements as you can so it will be even faster yet. If you can swing a set of lower UMI lift bars and some uppers along with sub-frame connectors , those will go a long ways towards improving your launches.

Will def try, I got connectors on my gt that I'm gonna steal, it is the ones with seat brackets. Umi bars I'll have to clear with the wife lol.

I look at it this way, even with a 14.5 documented pass, I proved alot of people wrong t work saying I wouldn't run that much faster with a 5 spd. Co worker I was with admitted he was wrong and was actually impressed, said on my last pass that I was making up ground fast on that other car. Next time I will be ready for the 13s, gotta get my battery bolted down somehow, old guy told me he wouldn't boot me this time but to get it fixed cuz if he sees me again I'm not running, battery needs to be strapped and bolted. I said really? A strap won't do? He said I'm not trying to be a dick I said oh no I completely understand wher your coming from I just didn't know I needed to do that.

Good, the connectors will help stiffen the body up so the suspension can do its job better.
Yeah, they want things fastened down securely so if you happen to crash nothing will fly out and possibly hit someone.

Aww, that just mean. but true.
It's PaPa or PawPaw to the grandkids.
3-girls & 2-boys.
The oldest just turned sixteen a little while back.
I couldn't get her interested in a Mustang, she had to have a 3/4 ton Dodge diesel truck to haul her "real" horses around with. Kind of funny to see this little bitty girl piloting a big tall pickup truck, but she drives it all over the place.

I really want to go back and bust out the 13s. My minds is racing still. I want to get radials and get my flywheel changed out. Had to push it to start it once I was at the track right before tech in and right before the last run then I had to sit in line for a half hour with the car running.

Good thing was it was cold enough to see your breath so it wasn't too bad leaving it run. I just want to go again right now lol

Time for a rebuild. Upgrade the S-spring to one for an F150 for more holding power.

Just fyi. If you are gonna upgrade that one. I would do it before install. It's easier on a work bench.
