A TC'd Escort would be a hoot to drive and who knows, you might even pick up some fuel mileage if the little engine didn't have to work so hard.

hey fellas I'm confused a little. I'm trying to find a wideband to buy, and this one isn't too expensive. But can I wire it up to my 02 sensors or is it made just to plug into some other holley device?

No you can't hook it to your existing o2 because they are not wideband. Only 2011 and up have factory wideband sensors. That's the reason that one is so cheap because it doesn't have a sending unit

One other thing blown.. the only one I found cheaper than the one I got was innovate. Look then up. I was just unsure if they had to use the data logger. But maybe call them?

That looks like it is made to work with Holley's Commander controller.
And, it's priced to low to be a stand alone or have the O2 sensors included with it.
You cannot use your O2 sensors, they are not wideband.
You need to get a wideband gauge/meter with the wideband O2 sensors.

Yeah, I would say those are pretty important. Just as well add a turbo while it is down.

So I got a question then. Will a narrow band work with a stock o2 sensor to where I can splice into it or not

Sally,

yea, thats how mine is. after i posted that i read some more and realized my 02s are narrowband, which is why the guy before me put a narrowband gauge in it. its just spliced into the one 02 on the drivers side.

Lol.. you are not getting mine.
When I bought mine I did tons and tons of research. If your gonna buy new the Aem is probably the best bang for your buck. It comes with everything you need. Even the weld in bung for the new o2 sensor.

Okay so to be clear (bear with me lol) I have to keep both narrowband 02s and then add a 3rd wideband 02?

ok you have to bear with me also cause i dont remember what a stock setup is. lol

do our cars have 2 o2s stock? because if they do you maybe able to eliminate to back on. but i think the wideband needs to be mounted pretty close to the headers.

what are the sensors you have now? because you said yours were spliced into. or does you current narrowband af have its o2 sensor? if it does then you can toss that whole gauge and sensor and use the new one there?

Yes, your ECU cannot use the wideband.
You just have to weld in another bung and add the wideband sensor and gauge/meter.

That's relatively easy. I plan to use at least 2 widebands and maybe as many as 8 depending on the funds availability.AEM has controllers for as many as 4 at a time and special bungs so you can install them closer to the cylinders without burning up the sensors.
If I can monitor all 8 cylinders, then I can use the PMS to tune both fuel and ignition timing for each cylinder individually.
