Advice

Hey guys I need some advice. I'm in my first semester at a 4 yr college and I'm already 20k in debt cause of loans. My local community college offers an auto mechanic and management 2 yr degree that I could finish in less time than that. I want a 4 yr degree but after meeting with my Russian professor and telling him the gist of this he told me that I should look into the community college degree. What do you guys think?

20k is ridiculous. Go to a community college, get your associates. Then you can transfer to a university. I literally pay under like a 10th a semester compared to you. What people will mainly see is my university degree tho, and will discard the basic associates.

Idk if you was talking about a IT school or not but they don't look as good as a degree, but they get the job done. Faster also.

+1 AA/AS then BS/BA so much cheaper also a lot of 2 year colleges have transfer agreements. But don't blow it off it is not as easy as one may think!

Be careful with your major though...

I did the community college thing taking general courses that would transfer...

Then got to college, and didn't realize that I had basically 3.5 years of major courses that couldn't be taken out of order (pre-req).

Now I didn't really decide on my major until I was about to transfer...

So the advise is to make sure you take some courses in your major while at community college... Or it won't really help...
