Directv Ordering Question

So I move into my apartment on the 26th and I'd like to get Directv ordered for I can get it installed on that date if possible or close to it. When you order it online does it let you choose your installation date or does it automatically give one to you?

Re: Directv Ordering Question

Check your lease first to make sure you are allowed to have a satellite dish. I know a lot of up-scale complexes won't let you put a dish outside of your apartment.

Well, they don't mind if you pay 300 dollars lol

Turns out my apartment isn't facing the right direction either. Pisses me off so bad they didn't bother to mention any of these before signing the lease.

uhhhhh you have been smokeing something i have been looking for, for a long time.

how does. maybe 90 channels in below standard def with no built in guide, costs about the same cable match up to dish or directv with over 300 channels with 70 of those channels in HD, built in guide, better programming, clearer non High def picture, and about the same price (atleast for me) compair.

Cable here blows. Currently I have Knology which has maybe 9-10 HD channels. Comcast is slightly better. Nothing compares to Directv's 90+ HD channels.

Re: Directv Ordering Question

DirecTVs 90+ HD channel claim is a bit inflated. That includes PPV channels and everything. They've got more HD channels than either of the local cable companies, but the difference isn't quite that drastic. Locals in HD varies by region, so that can be a big negative, if you can't get them over the air.

I have a guide and dvr, a very clear standard def picture, I pay a good bit less for tv and internet. I do have less HD channels, but all but 1 or 2 channels that I watch come in HD. I can watch TV when is windy or rainy, I didn't have to spend the time positioning the stupid satellite, I didn't have to rewire anything, and I can watch cable on as many other TVs in the house without having to buy more junk. I looked for a second to try to find DirecTVs internet speeds and couldn't but I am willing to bet my internet is faster.

Yeah, you get more channels, but I pay less and have more convenience. My family used to have satellite, I was not impressed. I like to watch tv when its raining and I can't sit outside and tinker with stuff, with satellite I could only watch fuzz.

Re: Directv Ordering Question

DTV FTMFW! Okay maybe I'm a little bias. If your apartment doesn't face south/southwest then you wont be able to get the service.

Re: Directv Ordering Question

Here I think cable>satellite, I don't get as many HD channels, but I think it's around the 40 mark, and thy keep trying to add, plus probably like another 500+ channels and 75+music channels, house and car classifieds, online games. I have satellite at work and whenever a bird flies by it goes out (okay, maybe a bit of an exaggeration but it often goes out and almost always in inclined weather).

Cable company also introduced were the caller ID comes up on the TV, it even shows up before the phone rings, of course you need to have both their phone and cable service.

Sorry, should of mentioned I was comparing those cable features to the other cable features, or at least the ones I'm aware of or heard of. Not denying DTV lacks features.

Guess all I'm really doing is braggin'
