They're calling it Frankenstorm. We got crushed last year at this time. It snowed while the trees still had leaves on them. A lot of trees fell down. That storm was 24 hours. We lost power for five days. This storm is supposed to be 48 hours. Put in a standby generator after last year's disaster. Hopefully we are ready for it this time.

Where are you
So I had no idea what to expect with Ike. I had a six pack and some beef jerky. Thought it would be no big deal... Maybe 1 day without power.

I had no power for 10+ days. Hahhahaha.

And no running water for 5. And even then we were told to boil water for consumption for days. Luckily , I did fill my bath tub up first to have some water to flush the toilet with!!

Good thing a local target opened and sold water/food for cash in a few days.

Lesson: hope you have some supplies... Or leave town!

Good luck y'all.

It's starting to get real windy here in central NJ.
I put in a natural gas back-up generator after my basement flooded last year. The power was out for 2 days.

I'm just hoping my car survives I'm surrounded by trees and with 60+ winds I hope I don't wake up and find a tree in my roof, knock on wood

Out of power for about 2 hours now, and they say might not be on for 72 hours at the earliest. I'm ready to loose it. Computer died & phone on its way out

We should have companies coming to help all of you guys from Oklahoma. Im a High Voltage Lineman, but im still in school. So i wont be coming. But i know there are atleast 3 big electric companies who will be going North to help you guys get your electric back.

Good, they are gonna need all the help they can get! And if anybody ever gets the chance, thank a lineman, they really appriciate it. They bust their asses in the snow, rain, storms, to get your power back on. Work extremely long hours (most of the time during storms 20 hrs a day is garenteed) And they handle electric that can kill them at any given minute. I respect the profession which is why im doing it. Everybody in the hurricane hang in there, and stay safe guys! And most importantly.....make sure the stangs get put up good! Lol

Hate to be "that guy" but it all looks pretty dramatic to me. Or maybe it's just because I live in Southern Louisiana.

Hope everyone makes it through the storm and aftermath all good! Good luck.
