thoughts on a speeding ticket

So back in october, I was working (driver at papa johns) coming back from a delivery in neutral cruising down a hill around 45mph. Well then I see a cop get right behind me and flip his lights on. I pull over and he says do u know how fast u were going? I said yes, around 45. He said I clocked you at 44 in a 35...went back to the car and wrote me a ticket! Keep in mind, im on the job, have my car topper on, uniform on and everything, just going back to get another delivery.

Well based on this story, I was wondering what I should do at court? Should I plead not guilty and try to get it dismissed? Should I just get it continued? Should I use my prayer for judgment?

Here's my situation. I don't have an extra $200 to give away. And if im charged for a speeding ticket, I lose my job. Im leaning on getting it continued because christmas shopping has killed me!

Well, if you lose your job over it, i don't think you've got anything to lose. I'd try to get it dismissed. Speeding is speeding, but you never know, maybe they'll give you a break.

So just because your on the job, in uniform and are speeding to get back so you can deliver another pizza, YOU DON'T THINK YOU SHOULD GET A SPEEDING TICKET?

You can pay the fine in installments. DON'T SPEED.

Umm yea, especially 9 over. The cop needed to meet a quota. Im always going to "speed" bc sometimes my job requires to be quick. But its not like im going 15 or more over. And honestly, I always drive 9 over almost everywhere. Who doesn't? This is my first speeding ticket, been driving for 5 years, just gets to me that he knows im at the job and still gives me a ticket.

I just went to court today for my speeding ticket

102 in a 60. (I hired an attorney of course)
I walked out with $292 in fines and 1 4hour defensive driving class that will cost me $40 and it will stay off my record

My advice to you,
Don't call in and pay it...it will directly affect your insurance and go on your record.
Go to court, you can pay the ticket and keep it off your record

I hope you really don't believe the quota thing because it doesn't exist, there may be a standard or number of contacts each officer makes a day but they are not required to issue citations for each contact.
In addition to that I appreciate the speedy pizza delivery but some, NOT ALL, drive like they own the road, similar to Taxi drivers.

9 over is nothing, try to get that dismissed. The speed limit on the freeway is 65 and everyone does 75-80, that's 15 over and cops don't give a **** about it... If they give you hassle about it being 9 over remind them about that.

Won't work if it is a residential because they will quote the safety of children and people walking in a residential which is the reason for the low speed limit to begin with. The highway is different because it is built for speed.
Of course I could be wrong but be prepared for the city attorney to mention that.

It was a 4 lane city street, no neighborhoods within a mile of where I was pulled. Speed limit fluctuates from 35-45 depending on where you are on the road.
