LMAO! In my office we play a dumb little game to determine who's going to buy lunch. Everyone that doesn't play thinks we are morons because when you lose, you pay $60 for you $8-10 lunch. I've always maintained that over a long enough period of time, you will be within +/-10% of what you would have paid if you just paid for yourself every meal....sssooo...I started keeping a log of the price of my meal, price of the total bill, my win/loss record to see if I am right, and percent difference in cost of food eaten v. amount of money paid. Being a nerd is awesome....

Re: Now Our Beer is being out sourced

I've heard places in NYC sell them as shots - $25 each. With a 25% Alch/Vol ratio, the ability to never go bad and cases going onward for $500 dollars. The bottle is apparently engraved in gold and are also collectors items, individually numbered and I've heard you can make your money back on the bottle alone.

A lot of the guys I worked with are alcoholics. We were talking about it since he came back from Atlantic City after a Beer fest they had down there. Another buddy of mine worked in a beer distributor and he was telling me a guy came in and specially ordered it and they had it. The guy opened the bottle right there and gave everyone in the store a taste.

Yeah it's supposed to be had as a wine, not a beer lol.

I hear that, I can't wait till our Old Towne, our local brewery, to open back up. The old place burnt down last year, and now, since they haven't been producing, obviously, it is impossible to find.

Boo Red Wings, Hooray Islanders, I mean Penguins!

Brooklyn Lager and Blue Point are our local breweries and I must say some very good ones. I've heard there are a few others along the shores I gotta' find.

Any of you southerners familiar with Miller's Ale House? One opened up the block from me. They seem to be packed every night for the past month and are supposedly very good. Right down the block is this little bar I stop in some nights and they always hang out there after their shifts lol.

Re: Now Our Beer is being out sourced

Guys, whats the worry, what could they possibly do to make Bud worse than it already is. As I see it they might actually make it more drinkable. Belgium makes some good beer. Take Lowenbrau. It was an import many moons ago before most of you were born then Miller bought the rights to it in the US and they FUBAR'ed so bad that people stopped drinking it. The original owners bought the rights back and now it is an import again. I honestly cannot stand American Beer and will go to great lengths not to drink it unless I am at someones house and they offer it to me. All the big Beer companies suck. The best made American beers are micro brews

Yup, that was about the point of my short post earlier...bud sucks balls...only drink it because it's cold and wet and cheap when it comes to cookouts and such that I am catering.

i remember seeing it in wal mart a while back before the place burned here in florence. i never tried it but i look forward to soon. you should try lazy magnolia beer brewed in south mississippi. they only sell it in MS, AL, and the FL panhandle at the moment. they won bronze at the world beer cup in 2006 which isn't bad for a company that's been around since 2003.
