Re: For Gun Supporters/Owners

So basically he wants to ban everyone from owning a gun but not prosecute anyone that shoot someone. Makes alot of sense if you ask me.

Unless of course you are shooting in self defense, then you should be prosecuted. The bad part is we're too far into this to back out now. I hate to say it but Obama/Hillary is looking pretty good in '10.

I'm talking about how upset you and others get over guns but could careless what we do with our military

This thread = You digging up bad **** about Obama and ignoring that the Republicans are just as worse on other issues.

I don't see you posting anything about the FISA bill on here? I guess it's cool for the President to spy on Americans illegally, completely rewrite the 4th amendment and then give complete immunity to companies like AT&T and Verizon from being sued by their customers for violating their privacy.

If you are going to trash talk politicians, don't act like just one side is the problem.

Re: For Gun Supporters/Owners

I am sure this thread is about the canidates that will step into office, not about the ones that are going to have to step out!

I say there is some serious issue with both canidates, but as for our freedoms being preserved...Then I would vote republican!

Brent I've been away for a while. but am I right by saying that you now support Obama. Well that is a complete 180 from the guy that supported Ron Paul. As far as the FISA bill goes, I don't care who listens in on my phone calls. If it provents another 9/11 from happening it's worth it in my eyes. As for the War we don't just go attacking middle eastern countries for no reason. can I say 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11.

I don't support Obama in any shape or form and have absolutely no idea how you came up with that conclusion. What, I don't disagree with him and talk **** about him constantly so I must support him? Come on man, I'm tired of this "Democrats are evil and Republicans are the only person you should vote for bull****".

FISA is not about "I don't care if the government violates my constitutional rights and listens in cause I have nothing to hide". It's about the government taking away from our rights period. Just like some in the government want to take away our rights to guns, Republicans want to take away our right to privacy and our rights to a warrant before any party of our privacy is searched.

9/11 was not caused because our government could not spy on Americans at will. It was caused because our government ignored warning signs and our foreign policy was of no help in deterring it.

I absolutely reject the argument "I don't care who listens into my phone calls". That's a one dimensional look at what rewriting the 4th amendment is. It's about allowing the government access to our lives that isn't necessary to protecting us from attack.

You should not be worried about spying on Americans when the border is wide the **** open where anyone that wants to can walk across the border into America for the right price.

Democrats are a piece of ****. So are Republicans. Stop hiding behind 9/11 and allowing Republicans to create more government in the name of National Security. We already know no government isn't in the best interest of America. That's what the conservative principle is about. Yet we allow George Bush to increase it ten fold because he exploited 9/11.

Re: For Gun Supporters/Owners

yes u are right about what u said about the boarders and the push for bigger government. but to say that u don't support Obama but the picture and quote under your post says differently. I voted for bush both times not because i liked him, but i didn't want the other guy. I will vote for mccain not cause i like him but he is the less of two evils. I don't think the repulbician party is the answer in general they are not much different the demacrots but i lean to the right on most isuess. no one said anything bashing the man just posted his position. and u go all crazy defending him. you worry about the 4th amm. and not the 2nd. well you need a history lesson my friend. removing arms from the people is the first step to comunmism. just look at Cuba.

No it doesn't say anything differently! Good grief, because I stick up for the guy (which I didn't even do because I don't support his stances on Guns) against biased attacks that means I support him? The signature is a JOKE!

That's a terrible way to vote. Why not try to become a solution to our countries problem instead of adding to them?

I was not even defending Obama in this thread. I was calling out someone for playing party lines.

Quote:

What. The. ****. I support the 2nd Amendment exactly the same as the 4th. I believe they should both be preserved. Republicans want to attack the 4th amendment and Democrats want to attack the 2nd. I don't play party lines. It's how it is. I think Obama sucks. I think McCain sucks. I'm not voting for someone I think sucks

You are the one worrying about the 2nd amendment and letting the 4th amendment go the way of the dodo bird. So don't tell me I'm the one worrying about one and not the other. I believe they are equal in importance to our rights as citizens. The fact that you would allow a President to change them is scary.

Re: For Gun Supporters/Owners

Anyone ever notice that political threads on car enthusiast sites are kind of like the trying to run through a brick wall repeatedly until you knock yourself out only to wake up later and to continue trying?

Both main candidates suck.

The 3rd party candidates won't get enough air play to have a shot in hell at getting elected...let alone even getting invited to the debates...as well as press time because the press will control the election like it always does.

Gun laws, come get mine...but bring more than I have.

Privacy, well, do we really even have any anyhow? I mean, no matter what you try to do...go to work, rent an apt, buy a house, buy a car, get car insurance, get a loan, get cable TV, get internet service, get a phone, etc...they all require your SSN. No matter what we do in life there is a paper trail so big brother already knows what we are doing. Now, if they decide to put cameras in my house, then I'll take offense...but listening to phone calls? As long as they use lube while listening to my phone sex so I don't get sued for any abrasions or rawness caused, I don't care.

No, just to be an ***, I say the cameras at signal lights are a violation of my privacy. I'm driving down the road, I don't want big brother to know it. It's my privacy to drive down this road. Same with security cameras in stores...I didn't sign a consent form to video tape me.

People act like the wire tapping is for every citizen. Sure, the gov't is going to worry about jon q public and make sure he isn't doing bad things...they target those that raise suspicion as a result of other surveillance, intel, etc. don't want to be listened to? don't act a fool and get your name on their radar.

On a different note, might I suggest ConflictingViews for these kind of threads. They seem to cloudy up car sights all the time...I know there are about 20 a day on SVTP...yet sites like mod fords doesn't really get any.

We need to shoot all congressmen and senators. Then start all over. They are all so corrupt they are giving our country away! Where I live there are at least four cameras on every corner. We have no freedom, no privacy, no rights left. I have to piss in a bottle just to keep my job. Can we say 5th amendment.

BUt have you ever noticed that those on the government assisted plan don't have to pee in a cup to keep their "jobs" of sitting on the porch waiting for the check? Interesting thought there, eh?

Oh, and I Agree on the current politicians...get them all out of there and start over with real people, not professional politicians.

Re: For Gun Supporters/Owners

I think it's amazing how Americans are foolish enough to support a man who throws around the word change. There is a better and simpler way for change - vote for a third party candidate. Obviously history classes aren't working since the biggest changes happened when parties swapped or new parties emerged. Americans are lazy. Vote for the guy that just says change when I vote instead of actually learning of another candidate, which in consequence, I will start the change.

I am still a hypocrite however because likely so, I will vote for McCain (well I'm also thinking about just writing in Guilianni's name on the ballot and circling it, but that's another story) because like many people here believe, although in a sense it's being just as lazy, he's the lesser of two evils. It's really strategy. The ignorant folks are voting Obama for change, and to have the first black president. "Oh!" they say "Republicans have been in office for 8 years, and I'm just out of college so I don't remember Clinton's term. Republicans are evil, I'll vote Democrat!" It seems the right does know this but to give up the nation to the two biggest competitors - well I'll just say I can't blame them.

I will be damned if Obama and/or Clinton make it to Office. I am ready to move out of this country if they are elected. That will hurt me the most because I love this country, even with the mess it's in, and all the problems my generation and the future generations will face. I know we will get through it though because we are Americans, we fight for the dumbest **** and we don't give up on it. We are arrogant SOBs. I hope that when my generation is old enough to run for office we will be smart enough and united enough to vote, and have, a better candidate.

As for privacy issues, it is ridiculous, yes, to an extent. Honestly we are the "available" generation. I mean we have made ourselves completely available. Facebook, MySpace, iPhone; we are constantly connected and want to be in touch with anyone that may need /want us. I do not like the idea of red light cameras. They're planning on installing a few here, something like the 8 deadliest intersections. However I can agree with this because some of these intersections are horrible, hundreds of accidents per intersection alone. As long as they only turn on during red lights and allow for that last car going through it makes no difference to me. Does it bother me, yes, but it's one of those things I'm on the fence about. I will be more worried when the power is abused.

The county is also installing audible sensors to detect gunshots in the worser areas which will also increase response time and help get illegal hand guns off the street. There are towns ignoring this. However I bring this up because is this a violation of privacy as well?

Let's be happy this isn't Britain where cops watch the public through cameras, you can be held without lawyer and for no reason at all.

All I will say is that I have been involved in the subculture world and the talks and information I've exchanged can be plenty, but I'm just exchanging information, we do have a freedom of information. Is the government really going to tap everyone's phone lines? If I use the word "bomb" in this thread does that mean the CIA and ATF are now watching this thread for illegal activities? I highly doubt it. I believe they already know who they have to watch. They still can't search me if I get pulled over without consent or reasonably cause, but they'll use any excuse for reasonable cause or act before you can catch on.
