Was goin to install tunes not sure what I want ... What does the S P and R mean after the 93.. I know the 93 is octane I believe ???but the letters throwing me off ???? I have a feeling but wanna be sure before I go to messin with it... Also I have an 05 it says 06 but don't think that matters cause same info.... It's 2005 - 2009 bama tuner so shouldn't matter... suggestions on the tune would be nice and what they are... Thanx in advance....

This is a little confusing. Did you order this tuner specifically for your vehicle or purchase it from someone with the same year mustang as yours? If you bought this tuner from someone and think you can just plug it into yours and run the tunes that are on it.......you can't.

Race tune is gonna have a touchy throttle (in a good way) and you can run it all day if you want. Best thing to do is test them all and see which one suits your driving style.

The tunes are just progressively more aggressive in terms of timing, air/fuel ratio and shift points if your an auto. Also require better gas, race requires 91/93.. Sometimes, like in my case any gas will work on street and performance. Usually street=87 performance=89 race=91/93.. They should have explained that part to you

I will be honest and say out of all my tuned mustangs I have never ran any other tune but the race tune. I want the most aggressive so I run the race tune all the time.

Thanx again ... I only use 93 ... My reasoning besides being better gas is its usually like 10 - 15 cents more so overall if ya put 10 gal (example) only dollar fifty difference if that...

Then you can use any tune any time, like stated above most use the race tune 100% of the time..
Only time I come off race is when the wife has the car, reason being is it's an auto and it will surge forward from time to time while at a stop(driv-thru, stop light etc).. I never bang on my car and still enjoy the race tune, like stated its more responsive and just feels better overall

Put race tune in ... Had wierd start the first couple times starting it .. It started but was wierd. Is this normal? Now seems to start fine... Also when putting tunes in had other things I could change forgot what it said exactly but I skipped over it... Just went to install tune ... Should I have done something different ???

Stick to the basics of loading the tune. When you go in there playing around with stuff you are looking for trouble. Remember it's a car not stationary object that you can take your time fixing if you screw it up. You screw with the wrong stuff on your tuner and you could shut your car down.

This is completely normal. When you first load the tune, the Car will act really weird almost as if it's tripping over it's own feet. That's just your PCM relearning the new strategy you loaded! After a few minutes and a couple start ups, that should go away.

I'm glad to see you decided on the Race Tune, That's going to be your most aggressive option! Enjoy your new tune and let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!
