Totalled :-(

So its Tuesday afternoon 2 weeks ago, average day driving on a 1 lane road..we approach a turn coming up on the left... 2 cars are in front of me...the front car waits till he gets to the turn slams on his breaks and comes to a complete stop and couldnt turn due to oncoming traffic. The car behind it (in front of me) swerves hard onto the shoulder and barely misses hitting the other car and slams also on its brakes..i now have no where to go but hope and pray my brakes save me..they didnt. I slammed right into the car in front of me. I took the other cars bumper with me. Radiator caved in and was leaking, hood was destroyed, airbags deployed, headlights destroyed, frame caved in. Car was done.

Insurance said total loss and wrote me a check for $3500. Went and got an 07 Acura TL.

He says there's frame damage..
I think totaled just means the cost to repair exceeds a certain % of the cars value..

First off, I'm sorry about your car and it doesn't sound like anybody was hurt, which is always first concern. What I don't understand is how the accident occured. 3 cars were approaching a left hand turn. Was there a traffic light or stop sign? When making a turn especially a left, you can't assume 3 cars are going to get through without slowing down or stopping. IMO it sound like you might not have been paying full attention to driving. Good luck with the Acura and please be careful since you might not be as lucky next time.

^ Ok let me try and explain it better.

It was a 1 lane road going both ways. The speed limit is 50 on the road all of the cars were going about that maybe 5 over at max.

The car in front approached a turn to the left their is no stop sign no light nothing and theirs no lane to pass unless you go off on the shoulder which their isnt even much room.

Instead of doing what most people do and slowly slow down, turn on their turn signal, etc they waited till the last second (Im assuming they didnt know where they were going) no turn signal nothing. cars were coming in the oncoming lane so they couldnt go they had to come to a complete stop.

the car in front of me was a SUV so i had a limited view; all i heard was tires screaching and the car in fron of me swearve onto the passing lane and slam on its breaks (why it didnt keep going i have no damn clue)

I then had 3 choices. Go onto oncoming traffic and have a head on collosion, slam into the front car or slam into the car that swearved off. I slammed on my breaks as hard as a i could and slammed into the corner of the bumper of the car that swearved off the road.

Hell 3500 would barely cover the cost of replacing the airbags.

At least you lived to ride again. That's the most important part. Cars can be replaced.

ICU not so much but I was helicoptered to a hospital and don't remember it.. I was GONE for 3 + days and had no short term memory for over a month and lost a LOT of memory of what happened up to 3 weeks before the wreck, head docs were amazed at my recovery.. According to them I was 'awake, but way confused' those entire 3 days - and remember none of it

There was a member on here who > this thread, though and I can't remember his handle but he had a vert.. and rolled it, was royally messed up for it (and probably still is)

I remember all his stories and he is probably the reason I will not ever own a vert.. I've looked at vert foxes and even a GT500 but his story is always nagging.. the wreck wasn't even his fault and he was going the speed limit..

Anyhow.. Same could happen with anyone.. Passive/aggressive is the way to drive :p push back with people who just take, but avoid people who are clueless.. and you'll be good to go
