Re: welcome to my kitchen

See, that wasn't part of his description last night.

And, I couldn't swap blocks with him, because I'd like to get it in by this winter and get the car running and he isn't looking to do all this work for about a year.

However, I could run this motor for a while and then he could buy the block off me when he is ready...at which point I would be ready to put the V8 in it by then.

And I don't see it happening on street gas....not @ 20 psi...unless you completely kill the timing down to around 12*. lol

If I went 302 I would expect to have to rebuild it anyhow. I know I would want to swap out the cam anyhow....and I would probably get it bored out so the guts would come out anyhow.

302 is smaller than I wanted to go, but, I'm thinking about going that route with a *gasp* turbo setup...even though I can't stand turbos.

Yeah, I know anyone can make power, but to run 20 psi on a v6 on 93 octane? Um...yeah, that's going to be a stretch.

Re: welcome to my kitchen

i can do it ...the only warranty i can offer is that itll run at initial crank and make a dyno tune/pull. after that.. the parts are on a limb. the 302 is a block and cam....no rods or pistons

Re: welcome to my kitchen

So spark, this block is solid right? No issues with it besides missing pistons and rods and such?

Since I would be taking the cam out anyhow...you interested in keeping the cam?

Ok, bozo said it was just the block and cam.

$80 for the complete short block, I think I may take it off your hands. I could get the 81 up and running for about a grand...so that's definitely a possibility. I'll let you know tonight if I want it or not.

Re: welcome to my kitchen

As a full shortblock, I would just leave it as is and get some heads and intake....then run the fuel lines and what not and get a wiring kit...and get the car in primer to use as a daily until I can start replacing everything else.

What trannys y'all have? Preferably that you haven't driven.

Re: welcome to my kitchen

Well, the car is already a manual car, so the T5 is pretty tempting.
