Microsoft is rolling out SP 3 as of today. I've run across several problems on our companys test network. Until Microsoft correct the problem Here's a link to block SP 3 Download details: Windows Service Pack Blocker Tool Kit

Re: WindowsXP SP 3 Rollout starting today

I had it pop up as an available update about a month ago, and then it just disappeared.

What problems are you seeing? I have to approve any updates before they get installed, so I'm not worried about blocking it or not.

I ran it for about a week and had problems with disk access being a lot slower. It put windows defender in a repeating loop, so it never quit spinning the drives

Re: WindowsXP SP 3 Rollout starting today

I've had an issue with SP3 and my computer hanging up every now and again

Usually after playing a graphic intensive game... it would just start hanging, no amount of rebooting would help, I'd always have to reset to an earlier date..

Never had that issue with SP2
