Re: Congrats to Nate!

This is a definitely big step in the right direction for the yellow Jeep-driving lesbian community. Rosie O' would be proud.

PS> One thing I have learned in nearly 6 months of marriage is this: Never pick the bread at the grocery store. When it gets stale, you will be blamed.

I thought that the cost of the wedding was supposed to fall in her lap?

She isn't like that at all, we are having a small, simple wedding, quick ceremony, most of the money will be spent on the reception.

Her parents aren't very well off, so we are sure we won't get a whole lot of help from them. She has been saving for a while, and my parents have mentioned they would like to help, so I think we will do ok. Kim is great at doing things on the cheap. Hell, I think she is going to get a dress from consignment or something like that.

Re: Congrats to Nate!

Not to be a dick just didnt know how it worked. Im in the same boat as you getting no help from her parents. My parents said we paid for our weddings you pay for yours. The most expensive thing ive ordered so for is the open bar at the reception. But i havent ordered the catering yet. Its all good as long as your happy. Nothing else matters.

Re: Congrats to Nate!

well the girls family helps but in our case we paid for most of it ourselves~ in a perfect world they would pay for it. I would rather spend enough to have a nice wedding then spend the rest on the honeymoon~ etc etc. You would be AMAZED how small a wedding 10k still sucks up.
