Fired/Discharged

So yesterday I was fired/discharged from my job. It has been 8 months and 15 days I've been working for them. It wasn't a part-time job either. It was a full-time. The things I've done for them and they let me go. It was a used car dealership btw. Reason why was because every year the insurance company runs our DL's and gives a list of people that can't be insured. So I was called into the owners office with two of the manages and the insurance dude. The owner showed me a list of how many points I can get on my license to still be insured and it was two the most I could have. I told him that I had an abstract of my license and have NO POINTS on my license. Owner was trying to back me up and the insurance company still denied me. So after that happened I knew automatically I had to been let go. So no I am jobless and I can't go free riding in my mustang like that until I get another job. Sorry for blabbering needed to get it out of my chest. I was pissed.

If you do not have any points at all ????WTF????

You say you have no points at all but the insurance company say's you have to many points to be insured?

Go to the Motor Vehicle department and get a copy of your record. If it shows no points you need to show your old boss. Even if he does not hire you back he needs to give you a good recommendation to your next employer.

Something as serious as this needs to be rectified. You even may find that you do have points on your record. At least you will know what they were for.

Let us know what happens

I guess that was just an excuse

No points and let go anyway. I'm guessing they just wanted to get rid of you. Go sign up for your un-employment and if they give you any grief just tell them at the unemployment office what went on and show them that you have no points. They had no reason to fire you and I'm sure the un-employment office will sign you up and investigate the situation.

Don't let them get away without a fight. They did not have the balls to tell you of a cutback and did not want an un-employment mark against their company so you being young they think they can get away with screwing you.

for quick full time work look into your local auto parts...just knowing about cars in general and having any dealer back ground will get you in the door quick. if you're over 21 you can even drive company vehicles which is an even faster way in...not the best cash though but can hold you over till you either finish school for a degree in something better or find a better job.

I'm sorry to hear about the job, when I read your post it ticked me off , after you posted your sheets I took a look into it a little, it seems New Jersey law is, if you are convicted of a traffic violation points are added to your driving record based on offense. The more points that are on your record the worse it is, your unsafe operation of motor vehicle conviction got you 6 points on your record , the next one speeding got you 3 more added , your accident got you .4 , so in total you have 9.4 points against you. New Jersey law only allows 12 points in 5 years before they suspend your license. The -2 on the top of the second sheet is how many points they will take of for being a safe driver, on the bottom of your first sheet you can see they only deducted 1 of the two points the other point will be deducted within the next 6 months, so with the deduction you now have 8.4 points on your record , this is why you couldn't get Insured , I'm sorry man but keep positive something better will come along, and take it easy out there your only 4 points away from a suspended license. http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Violations/penalties.htm

Dude, if they fired you without hard evidence of your driving record, then that's not the place you want to work. Sounds like a place that will screw you any time they got the chance.
