rainy yucky day glad I have a beater to drive in this weather. I just wish I had space in the garage to keep my car during this type of weather. Is it just me or does everybody have 5K worth of junk in the garage and let their car sit in the weather(-; Someday I will be able to drive it in and out of the garage.

no then it would be out of sight out of mind. The way I see it now as I walk by the car sitting outside in the weather gives me more of a reason to get rid of stuff and clean up the garage. We had a yard sale last weekend and got rid of some stuff, what didn't sell was taken to Good Will or Habitat and will never return to my garage. I have my 1968 Mustang coming in July and will need the garage to work on her so it will be done by then. Next winter I get a storage unit and put the Shelby in it for a few months.

A man's got to set priorities. I only have a single-bay garage. Space is limited. My GT has absolute priority in regard to garage space. I have a pull-down ladder accessing the attic space above. I decked 20' down the center of my attic for storage use. Anything that chokes my GT space goes above. If it's too big or heavy to store up there, it goes in the outdoor storage shed, with my riding mower. If I don't actually need things, they go in a yard sale, get traded or otherwise sold. My baby doesn't sit outside.

Our Snake has a basement two car garage cave and we have a 30'x50' metal barn so Ursula never has to bear the bad weather. Only problem is in winter and when its really wet there's 200' before we hit dry pavement.

I made enough room for my car in the winter I am just finishing up the cleaning out of stuff this spring. I used to restore cars from frame up and have a bunch of tools, drill presses, air compressors, engine hoist, engine holder 12 ton press and tool boxes. I just bought a few storage cabinets and wall hanging shelves to put stuff on now i just need to get it all organized into electrical, plumbing, drywall, tiling etc and place it in the correct place. My lawn equipment is stored in a shed I built a few years ago.

Just curious... Have you noticed any accelerated rust problems with your car sitting on unsealed/unpainted storage unit concrete? A friend of mine stores a car as well. He always lays a couple layers of heavy (rolled) paper down to park his car on. He says the paper absorbs moisture and helps keep the undercarriage dry.

This is true I also lay almost like a tarp material down to park my car on when it sits thru winter

I just wondered about moisture and rust. I've seen a few rods that have been stored on unsealed concrete and rust seemed to be a significant problem.

I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone, seeing their rides, getting experienced advice on a few mods I have in mind, and HAVING A GOOD TIME.

I've booked a room at the Super 8 in Kingdom City (Friday afternoon - Sunday morning). I've been anxious to get out of town. "Lola Mae" just rolled over 500 miles with absolutely no problems of any kind. She's itching to GO and so am I! I hope this first meet is a success and we get together annually, somewhere in the Midwest. We ALL need some funtime occasionally.

I had a couple tarps down on the ground and had the car covered. I did not notice any negative effects but it was only 4-5 months.

Yeah, it is probably my favorite color but I would definitely negotiate the price.

K&n sells a re piling kit. Comes with like 2 spray bottles. One a cleaner and one oil.

I'm sure lots of companies sell kits like that though lol

I think orileys sells the kits, if I'm not mistaken. I'd call the local car places. Advanced, autozone. I think they come with the instructions.
