For a squirrelly kid like me with a brand new coyote I can't really complain. Well I can after hearing mystics insurance rates hahahaha. But still it could be a lot worse

Liability only I'm 50 never had full coverage on any ride, I remember when the law came about before that insurance wasn't mandatory. My opinion is it's the biggest scam on the planet a thinly veiled tax gifted to ins corps like a whole bunch of other taxes named something else but we all know they're taxes.

I've had full-coverage GEICO insurance since 1984. That's back when it was sold exclusively to government employees (E-7 and above) only. I filed one claim for Mom (sideswiped a yellow Walmart pole in 2009) and she qualified for Accident Forgiveness. We have a relative that owns a local body shop. The damage repiar ended up costing her $100 out-of-pocket instead of the $500 collision deductible.

The GT costs me $43 per month, Mom's '01 Grand Marquis is $35, and she's in the 80-85 age bracket. New Car, Multi-Car, 5-year Good Driving, ABS and Anti-Theft discounts equate to a $558 savings per year. Needless to say, I won't be insurance shopping anytime soon.

It was before cars cost as much as they do I remember my Mom looking at buyin the first Honda car you could buy a coupe for $1300 or a sedan for $1600 brand new. Cars didn't cost as much as houses back then I've never owned a brand new car guess I just always figured someone else could pay the depreciation and fix the bugs for me.

I actually switched from Geiko to Allstate a couple years ago because it was $50 cheaper.

I hear ya. Telephone taxes cost more than the monthly phoneline charge. Homeowners insurance is one of the real scams. Companies raise premiums under the guise of current construction costs. First thing you know, they've got your home insured for more than the place is worth and more than it would cost to rebuild. Those "standard" out-building and deck coverages are generally over-priced as well. I have a backyard storage building covered under a $9,600 limit. A new building costs $700. I damned sure don't own $48,000 worth of personal property contents either. Would they drop any of the limit coverages to save me premium costs? Fat chance.

I can't gripe about medical insurance though. I have a sweet deal from Triwest Healthcare Alliance (TRICARE). ($22.44 monthly with no catastrophic caps.) That dickhead John McCain lobbied to raise my rate a little, but it's peanuts in comparison to what others pay.

Some say, "A new car depreciates as soon as you drive it off the lot." That's false. It depreciates as soon as you sign the purchase contract. The "New Car" then becomes a "One Owner".

Alrighty I hate weatherman!!! Look at the weather last night and they say no storms today until late evening with only a 20% chance at that. I decide to take my freshly detailed car to work this morning full moon no clouds in the sky. Long about 2:30 today all heck broke loose with a thunder storm and a lot of rain. All the way I was driving 55mph and staying away from other people while it rained on my nice clean car. Did I say I hate weatherman!!! Hum glad the wax is good water was just running off.

Why is it that I can buy a mint condition truck for 4,000$ yet I can't find a reasonable atv for less than 2 grand.

Been looking at blacking out my bumper lights (2 yellows up front, 2 reds on the side in the rear) and found some interesting wording regarding the Missouri state inspection. I know I don't have to get it state inspected for 5 years, but its something I'm looking at down the road. It says and I quote

"Do not inspect side marker lights, parking
lights, four (4)-way flashers, backup lights, interior lights, license plate light or clearance
lights. "

To me those bumper lights would be considered as side marker lights and it appears that they are exempt from Missouri state inspections so my interpretation is I would be legal if I decided to tint them.

Am I interpreting this right? T copp maybe you can step in since I know you tinted yours and have to deal with Missouri laws.

I've heard of plastidip but have never messed with it. Is it translucent enough to let the light pass through? How does it hold up? How hard is it to peel off if I decide to go that route and royally screw up the first time?

It depends on how many coats you put on. I sprayed mine like 10 coats so it was dark. And it peels off super easy like tape without the residue.

I didn't even look at what the law said when I put mine on. Honestly, I don't really care, ill takes chances if its illegal. As for state inspection, not sure on that either. I put the vinyl tint on mine, so if there is a problem, I can waste a few hours and take the tint off if need be.

I think all cops loosely interpret alot of laws like it says do not inspect license plate light but guarantee u will be pulled over for the plate light being out. My wife got pulled on the way home one night for just that.
