an apology for the "5.0 vs. 3.7" thread!

This has nothing to do with modding or any questions about mustangs so it'll probably be discontinued but I wanna apologize for starting a war between us mustang owners. I wasn't expecting it to be like that. I am very happy with my sixx. it was seriously just a question jus out of curiosity what people thought that I shoulda kept to myself. I didn't mean for everyone to eat at each others throats. that was not my intention. I completely agree with the the fact that all mustang owners whether it be a Shelby gt500 or base model 3.7 should stick together and bash on GM and dodge. that's the way it should be.

It wasn't your fault brother. Unfortunately its just the nature of people to argue, mostly because they're proud (I don't mean that in a bad way at all) and like to think their stuff is top dog. I know I do and I'm sure many others do too, nothing wrong with it until it becomes disrespectful.

No harm no foul

many people naturally want to "one up" everyone else thus this type of argument

If you think that's bad go jump on a camaro fourm and look around!! They are at each others throats and cussing at each other ALL the time. One of my favorite things about owning a mustang is the community! Even if things get a little heated we always have each others backs!

No worries. The V8 guys were always treading over to the V6 site on another Mustang forum I used to frequent; that caused me to stop posting over there as much. This site seems to have a better brotherhood between the sixes and eights.

I hope it can stay that way.

Its always that way though ... The old saying "its not a mustang unless its a V8". There's a few here who look down on sixxers but not as bad as on other sites. Am all for V8 power but reality is that not everyone can afford them.

I never was really down on anybody. 4 cyl, v6, v8, it never has been an issue for me. Once I joined this forum, I really got a hole new understanding of why guy chose their cars. Think of it like this, my Shelby, I drive literally once a month. A guy in a v6, is driving his dream car everyday. So who is really winning? I got everybody's back. I am glad to see anybody drive what they want.

+10... I've owned just about every make through the yrs. From 4-V8. So I've never hated on make or model. Only hated ricers or butchers to cars

You are spot on with that. I get to drive my dream car every day. But idk how you do it with a shelby sitting there I couldn't resist the temptation to driver her every day lol

Equal to an srt8? So your faster than a 5.0 too? Your 1/4 must be a 12.5-12.6?

+1 I will admit, I'd like to do a few things to my stang. But til then I simply enjoy my stock gt premium vert! For the record I couldn't do engine work if I tried right now, but also 4 years ago I couldn't build a house either, now I can,
It's life experiences.
So to the guys that know how to do all this and are humble and help guys out there like me, I say thank you!

Ya were pretty close. I'm not far behind her srt8. The down side for her is that damn automatic trans that all the chargers came with.

What's your 1/4 mile cuz it seems crazy that you would have a chance on an srt8 with only 2.73 gears or 3.31s you have

Well I'd say for v6 compared to a 400+ Hp v8 I'd call that pretty close.

That's for sure. A good comparison is our v6 with any gears over 3.55 against an rt challenger or charger. They get smoked.
