I drove a 125cc shifter cart once at Bondurant driving school in Arizona, and I can say that I was the fastest/scariest thing I've ever driven. I have driven a Formula Mazda around Laguna Seca, and the cart was quicker. The carts run similar lap times to Porsche GT3 Cup cars around Laguna Seca.

The driving school was amazing, I learned so much in the three day class. We drove Roush race-prepared mustangs with fuel cells and Baer racing brakes. We also drove skid cars, which teach you how to deal with understeer and oversteer on the fly. The carts were separate from the school, but they were far faster than the mustangs we drove.

I quit about ten years ago. I raced on a clay (dirt) 1/8th mile oval. Alcohol Briggs extra heavy class.
