I wondered about mine, but I know it's fine, I'd just like to know where it's been over the years.

I bought a 99 v6 rebuilt title and traded it with some boot for a 99 cobra with a rebuilt title. Never bothered me a bit but I got a car dealer to run a carfax for me and it turns out my car hit a tree idk if I should worry but the only issue I've had since I've had the car was the trans went out so I pit another one in and now the clutch is going out :/ drives perfectly everyday sometimes it's best to know and other times it's worse because that one small problem will make you think about it everyday

I guess nobody does. The forum should get together and get an unlimited subscription and just carfax the hell out of every car.

I hate carfax.

The idea of having an all knowing car source is great, but carfax is a service. Companies have to pay to put information on it, and pay to get it. There is no obligation, and it's really one big marketing ploy to just sell a service.

I know no one here is relying on one, or saying it is better than a mechanic/good look over the car, but still.

I just want to use it to see where it has been registered over its life. I know it was sold in Louisville originally now it's in Nashville, but where else has it been?

Probably not a good idea to get together and use someone's subscription, unless you like the idea of 3 hots and a cot.

CarFax did away with unlimited reports I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong. Depending on the dealer subscription they charge a small fee + the monthly rate now.

I did mine and found out its a NY car then to the Carolina's and now a Louisiana car. In 2004 it had over 800,000 on the odometer.

We did a carfax on my moms old van just to see what we could find. Everything came up nice and clean. Trouble is, it was involved in an accident about 5 years ago that caused quite a bit of damage. Didn't show anything about it.

+1, I know no one here ks saying it, but for future generations reading this, lol, do not solely trust Carfax.

They only show work done at shops that report to car fax or like major things like a rebuilt title n stuff.

I could run my car off the road pay a local shop or individual to patch it up and nobody would know.

See, this was fairly significant damage. I feel that if you're going to market the history of the car, it should be in full detail. It didn't even list that it had been in any accidents, lol. Which is why i never trust carfax. If i'm going to pay you $20 to run a VIN, i want to know everything. How many accidents, maintenance done to it, hell, for $20 i should know who has farted in it prior to myself.

I like Autocheck because its cheaper and just as good as CarFax. They're not perfect though
