The scary part about these cars is that I may have been responsible for some of the parts installed. I used to work at the corporate headquarters for NOPI. Don't misunderstand me, there were some serious builders and enthusiasts. I had the chance to see quite a few 10 second Hondas. Toyota Supras have always been monsters. I'm fact, there are a few Japanese cars that can be built to be true performance machines.

The flip side of that was what kept the business running. I sold a lot of useless parts to kids that just wanted to look cool. When the first Fast and Furious movie was release we played that thing on a loop. That movie was the greatest sales tool ever. I had people putting oversized wings and wheels on their Saturns. Big mouth front bumper covers became a necessary item for naturally aspirated cars. Obnoxious exhausts that do nothing except create noise pollution outsold effective modifications. Tail lights were also a big seller.

I always enjoyed meeting the real performance enthusiasts. Those guys had a plan in place, and knew how to use every part. They never bought crap that was over the top and looked like a cartoon.

I must admit, I miss my days at NOPI. I miss the shows. I miss the kids. I miss the fun and excitement no matter how ridiculous it may have seemed.

I wonder how useless people thing our Mustang exhausts are as we cruise through a neighborhood at 3am?

๐Ÿ˜‚ that reminds me. I know a guy with a festiva painted like a boss 302 and says bosstiva across the windshield. Not like ghetto... Like a legit resto and paint job. Strictly a joke though, he has a real boss and a gt500.

And usually cars with an engine size less than that of a 2 litre bottle of Mountain Dew....

Sure anything can be made fast, look at the drag racing lawn mowers. At least those are cool.

For a person with disposable income it may not be a bad deal. All the work is done and includes a warranty. I don't see this as being outrageous, just not in the average Joes budget. Though if I had 90 grand to blow on a car, I would not likely be that one...
