When I was a punk, I always wanted to go fast and waste more and more money going fast. There was always a faster car, someone with more money, so on.

When I hit a hard time with an old janky car, I tried to drive easy and started getting decent mileage- long story short, years of learning about aero, engines, and physics gave me a new challenge. I've never gotten a ticket, it's ALWAYS A COMPETITION, and it's cheap to do, and the victory is saving money. I love racing, and burning rubber and petrol, but it's costly. Now, this makes just driving to work fun and challenging. Not for everyone, but it works for me.
I personally am not overly concerned with my mpg. When I go for a cruise I like to drive around in 4th staying between 2200 and 2500 rpm. I just like the cocky feel that it gives the car. I will typically average 19-20 mpg overall if I drive normally, but if I get 17 because I drove a little more spirtedly, well I just see it as the cost of entertainment. Don't get me wrong, I like better gas mileage, but if that comes at the expense of doing what I enjoy then it isn't worth it.

Whatever makes you happy!

clflorida was asking about getting a second car for fuel economy- I just picked up a 2nd car for fuel economy in the same situation (well, my Mustang gets great fuel economy, but the warranty is only 100k/6 years, and in one year I put on 26k-so a second car is needed), and thought I would chime in with another option.

Saw an SN95 mustang GT last night with cobra badges under the GT badges on the front fenders. I passed him on the highway and he made it a point to speed up next to me and pass me.

I then saw him again two hours later at my grocery store (which is nowhere close where I saw him before). I couldn't get a pick cause he was staring at me with a confused look.

I would imagine if you put an airbag suspension under it that would allow you to make it taller it'd be possible

Look at the handyman special in the middle. Have no idea what car that was or is supposed to be. Maybe an El Camino, rice style?

Y'all gotta admit, if u gonna put wheels that massive on ANY vehicle, it has to have the right contoured fender wheel wells. + Wheels look better there than on some '80's box type car w/ a truck's suspension, or God forbid on a Mustang. That suv has a different shape in its self to begin w/ so why not keep that odd theme.
