Fewer and Fewer 99-04's out there :(

I remember back in the day when Fox bodies started to slowly dwindle in numbers until now you only see POS ones or super nice show cars (and not many of either)

Finally the 99-04 are starting to take this dip in popularity or availability. I dont see many at shows or events, and few driving around. There are still some out there but they are getting less each year.

The 05+ are so numerous they are just overwhelming the market lol.... how many are are in your area?

When I go to events with my local club its usually me and one other guy in a pre 05 and then about 25+ 05+ stangs lol

parts are also getting harder to find lol

Its a shame that the ugliest version of the mustang to date is the most abundant. The 05-09 is so bland, and everyone and their mother has one here. I still see quite a few new edges, but they are mostly poorly taken care of sixxers. 94-98 are a little bit harder to find around me.

I also think we have the highest concentration of 03-04 cobras, sadly none that are for sale.....I feel like they are teasing me.

I'm supporting the New Edges! I've only seen one or 2 nicer ones around here.

I see a ton of edge style in SLC but most are v6 unfortunately. Yeah way too many 05+ I almost get tired of seeing them, especially at car shows!

I think mine and my buddies new edge stangs are the only GT's in my whole town. The rest are all auto sixxers that look beat up.

New edge is my favorite body. Me and my friend and the only 2 in my area that are kept in good shape the rest are just ready for the junk yard

Yes in my area the most popular model is the 05 and up, next is the 94-98 and then the 99-04. Most of the ones maybe like 70% being v6, 20% being GT's and and 10% being other models Mach or cobra ect.

There are 17 S197s on campus and 2 New Edges. There is a gorgeous legend lime S197 with serious work done and a Roush stage 1 S197. The rest are v6 automatics (yes, I looked inside) and 1 convertible GT that's totally factory.
The other NE body is an 01 v6 convertible. I have the only NE GT in town and one of the very few manual Mustangs. There's an older gentleman with a redfire terminator that I cruise with sometimes though. He's pushing 670ish with a Whipple 3.4 and moderately high boost. I'm waiting for him to blow it up honestly because its pretty ragged and he likes to pick on the rich kid with an SRT8 Challenger. It's still amazing watching that thing explode past the SRT8 spinning the Whipple up.

There are several new edge in my area, but as most have said they r not taken care of. At the last car show I went to here, there were only 4. Only 3 decent ones an 1 of them was mine an one from out of state, an the other was a mystic cobra vert

Obviously, the S197 is the most recent (and one of the most popular) body style to be released by Ford, so of course there's going to be a lot of them from now to years to come.

I've seen a decent amount of New Edges, a few well-maintained ones, and one or two suped-up show-cars (my body guy drives a black Cobra New Edge, he's around 45-50).

Personally my favorite body style is the 2010+.

Not my cup of tea. I really dont like the monstrous spotlights they stick on those either.

To be fair, I dont like any mustang (or other cars for that matter) with black paint and black wheels.

There are so many 99-04s around my area, but they are all V6s and are treated like just another car to the owner.

Yeah, there is almost no Mustang pride here.

Its not like my Jeep Wrangler I had. Every Jeep owner I passed waved. If you wave at someone with a mustang here they look at you like your a nut job.

I do not wave at every mustang, I can tell right off if they have any clue or not and will wave at the ones that would wave back

Exactly, if its a nicer mustang then it's usually a punk driving it.

I find that most v8 owners wave if you wave at them. The v6 cars don't usually older women

This is true where I am.
The modded V8 drivers always wave, whereas the stock V8 and all v6s drivers just stare. I quit waving except to a few I know.
Cobras and Machs have always waved back.

Well see here's the deal; you have to pour a crap ton of money into new edges to actually make them look decent. With the S197 you've got much smoother lines. You just need a grille and some wheels. With the NE you've got to get all new bumpers, hood and side scoops, and definitely lowering springs.

And the black on black is probably one of the best color schemes out there.
