I'm 17 as well, so I face similar problems like you.
I have come up with a great method to dealing with these problems

"It is better to ask for forgiveness then permission"
So buy the parts, then ask forgiveness. Because if you straight up ask, then the answer will be no

I hate being a dick but this mechanic friend of my moms is a little disorganized to be nice.

He drove her car, then he smoked in it, then he says I'll get it detailed. So today was the magical detailers day, he details "show cars". I suppose for Camaro owners.

I really don't want this "Detailer"touching my car!

Don't get me wrong he's a really nice guy! And I'd be really upset if he charged a lot. The rear main seal, oil pan and gasket replacement, oil changed and tire rotation, and brake and power steering flush as well as new p/s hose, and drive belt all under $1,000.

So we got a steal of deal I think. The Detailer didn't remove the tree sap he waxed right over it

They can't force you to stay. Youre over the legal age and are considered an adult. If you want to move out, then do it.

She can report it stolen but when they pull you over and you show them your title and it has YOUR name on it they can't do anything. Try to take the title with you. You're of legal age and they can't say anything.

---------- Post added at 01:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:04 PM ----------

And just FYI of you take off and the car is reported stolen and they don't say who stole it, the cops will probably pull you over guns drawn, or tell you to step out of the car until you provide that title that has your name on it

Just show up at your dads place he'd probably take you in. May not support you 100% but you had intended to do that. Savvy you're smart, confident, and very attractive so don't worry what others think!

My Aunt left home at 16 because her parents wouldn't let her do anything.

You can come here!!

Just found out I might not be able to use my car to get back and forth from school. My family's a car short now and my parents wanna shuffle cars around so I would be driving some thing less thrilling. I'm very upset and all I think about all day is my mustang and what to save up for next. Considering the fact I have to pay for the tires/oil/trans oil that needs to be changed once a year cuz it's a racing transmission, and the unnecessary mileage. I'm mad. I just put a ton of cash into this car and now I may have to share it. I hate to come off a greedy because I love my family more than life itself but I'm so OCD when it comes to my car and cannot stand to think of someone else driving it wrong. The way some people drive in my family going through corners I will be buying tires every 5 months. I feel like I'm gonna cry.
