New ratchet set

Yesterday I picked up a new ratchet/sockets set and I was curious is anyone else had any experience with these. The idea of an open back ratchet set seems cool so I wanted to try them out

Is there still some sort of decent that retains the socket? Looks cool, and guarantees a catch on whatever nut/bolt your attacking (if you're facing it straight on.).

Yes the ratches hold them just fine, the socket has a groove that runs the circumference of the base and locks into a ring inside of the ratchet itself, and you would never need a deep socket to go over a bolt either

Oh I definitely didn't even think of not using deep wells. That's true! I see that they're Husky. I might look at grabbing a set. I had a 1/4" fall apart on me recently.

I just watched an ad for those on TV last night. They look like a great buy.

Yeah man. Love them type of sockets. When I worked for a used car dealership, all the mechanics used them. That's their prefer choice

I thought these were still a pretty new design. Glad I picked them up, I've no doubt they'll be used for my long tube I stall next weekend
