like $400 but go to Craigslist and look for one! I found mine for $300 and it had the newest upgrade on it. just ask for a pic of the serial code and go to the v1 website and it has a place you can check

Many many thread, etc related to this.

d:
I learned a lot.

Explain to me what you're looking for?

V1 and REDLINE radar detector are basically the KINGS for highway use. (Think other radar detectors as a Toyota, fiat, smart, Honda. Now think v1 and redline as Maserati, Ferrari, Mercedes, Ford GT, and Mustangs!) lol.
Escort are best for city use.

Don't buy cobra, etc they are normally crap.

Best website to buy them would be radarbusters.com.
If you are lost on which to buy, they usually have good reviews & rating to look at!

Always always remember, be careful in curves, turns. If you turn and slap on gas, you're gonna get screwed. Drive at least 3/4 before slapping on the gas. To make sure your radar completely scans 1-3 miles ahead of you.
Do not entirely depend on it if you're doing 90mph+ on highway. You'll need a laser jammed to just help you to have time to "casually" slow down.
Cops will look at front of car, if its weight going down to the road. They're not stupid. They'll just pull you over.

If you're high high speeder, you're just wasting money on radar detectors.
If you're low-profile speeder (75-85mph), you should be fine with them radar detectors. (curves are the cons of all radar detectors. So be careful).

Good luck!
