Ricers vs Mustangs..

Hold up. Someones gonna have to explain. Ricers are cars that look fast and are loud but sometimes can't compete. Mustangs look super fast but really aren't that fast...mostly known for power. Are mustangs just the first ricer cars and cause they're the first they aren't considered ricers?!!!??!? Someone tell me im wrong? I mean I love my mustang but...I wouldn't try to race a bmw...woah..

WTF are you even talking about? If you put a big wing, ugly body kit that was unpainted and rims that didn't match you would be a ricer no matter what kind of car...

Idk what im talking about. So you're saying if all of it matched it wouldn't be a ricer?

Ah! I remember now! I was going at ricers as being cars that look fast but really aren't all that fast. Mustangs look fast but from what I've read they can't beat a lot of cars...of course those could just be mustang haters....

My mustang beats lots of cars! Over..and over.. And over. Matter of fact, if the car I am racing can't do 12.5 seconds or better in the quarter it will never win. Oh, and my car isn't even tuned :0.

Anyways, a ricer is a car (that is not ever built with the intention of being a "fast car") that has performance upgrades and usually ugly body kits installed on them. A 1.8L Honda civic is NOT designed to be a fast car.. Period. Now... A 420hp 5.0L mustang was designed, in fact, to be a fast car. Mustangs of any kind can be fast, and money-per-performance wise the mustang is unparalleled. Just take a look at ALL the used SS camaros that cost more than brand new 5.0s that wouldn't even catch the 5.0s dust on a track or the strip. Mustangs were never ricers and will never be ricers. A Honda civic was made to get you great gas mileage and be a reliable commuting vehicle. A ford mustang is made to drive fast in a straight line. Line any car up in the mustangs price category and see who takes the win stock for stock. Now if you are talking a $150,000 Lamborghini or a $89k skyline GTR of course it isn't going to win. If it did, nobody would buy the gtr or the Lamborghini.

could be possible...especially when their logic says that hondas aren't made to be fast...neither was the mustang at one point in it's life. even still they have different levels of mustangs for different situations same as other car brands like honda.

@ZL...i don't see what's funny i was just stating i don't think your way of thinking is accurate. however an opinion is just that and we all have them so i respect yours even though i believe it's generalizing an entire motor company incorrectly.

I find that your opinion that we all have our own opinions is an opinionated opinion.

I classify ricers by the way they drive to.... If you fly by me in you civic, integra, etc with your fart can in medium to heavy traffic you are a ricer. Now if that car is a gt500, custom Evo, or an exotic then it's not so bad haha. I think "ricer" is just a car guy term for ****** bag

I said Honda civic. Name one single Honda civic that was meant to be fast? The 1965 mustang GT came with a 289cubic inch 225hp 4.7L. Tell me how that it wasn't meant to be a "fast car".

The Honda civic was created in 1972 to combat the oil crisis in the 70s. They came with a 71.3 cubic inch 4 cylinder engine that was made to run on leaded or unleaded fuel.

I'm not talking about a NSX and ford GT. In my opinion, a v6 mustang with a cobra bumper on it is a damn shame, but it's still not ricer. A Honda civic with nitrous stickers and racing seats is as rice as it comes. Keep your fart cannon in the right lane because it can't keep up with the left.

He said at one point in time the mustang wasn't fast, as in the mid 70s second gen mustangs. Just saying. No side picker here. Just here for the good times and patches of burnt rubber.

Back in the 60's, an arguably affordable car with 225hp was pretty stinkin fast. And you wouldn't race a BMW? The ford Boss 302's benchmark wasn't a Camaro, it was a BMW that cost around 20-30k more than the Boss. I wouldn't call that slow. Mustang has always been a car which was moderately affordable and powerful. That's a feat very hard to accomplish and I think ford does it well.

I forgot to mention it but I drive a 2002 mustang. I've been inside a BMW that took a sharp turn at 65 with ease. I almost slid off the road in mine going 35. Idk how much I would need to spend to beat his car but I'm sure it'd be in the thousands. But forget that. Ill kick his *** when I get the 2015. I see you're comparing the prices. But you gotta realize that the interior of a mustang is like plastic compared to a bmw which is like...idk..polished wood or something. I think the mustang is made for looks and high hp...which is why I bought it...

actually you can build a corner carver fairly cheap that'll compete at those levels...if you are in the thousands though you'd have one beastly grip machine. check out my sticky in the v6 section on budget cornering builds...even if you have a GT the parts are pretty interchangeable, and would make a world of difference.

i'm uploading some videos now of some of us from ME hitting up the Devils Triangle...you'll enjoy the corners
