Opinions on a winter beater...97 Ford Explorer

I found myself a decent 1997 Ford Explorer XLT in my area. The guy has it priced at $2700 but I talked him down to $2300. It is a 5.0 V8 with all wheel drive. It has 97k miles. I test drove it today and everything seems pretty good. No leaks, newer tires and brakes. Whatcha guys think? Anyone here have good luck with 97 explorer? Bad luck with 97 explorers?

$2300 for a truck with 97k miles seems like a steal....I really want to keep my race car inside during the Chicago winter.
