CHP, Riverside Sheriff or Riverside PD? Traffic Court, unless it's changed, you will go into court, they will call out cases, if you want to plead not guilty, you will wait until all those that want to plead guilty.

What speed did the officer put on the ticket? Around 85 or less? Did he cite you for reckless driving or just speeding?

Yep. You're going to be in a courtroom with a bunch of other lawbreakers such as yourself..
It's not very intimidating though...

I'm guessing that this is a mandatory appearance?

Plead guilty and hopefully you qualify for traffic school to prevent your insurance from raising...

Depending on charges this might be a stupid idea. Speeds like that normally involve jail time...

Depending on what your driving record is like, you might want to ask the judge what the standard disposition of the court is in a case like this BEFORE you enter a plea.
It sounds like you were going over a hundred and the cop wrote the ticket for under a hundred to keep from having to arrest you.
If I know that, so does the judge...
It's unlikely that they're going to reduce the fine, but, hopefully, you will be able to do traffic school, which, in these days of the internet is a breeze!
I recently completed a course in less than a half hour including registering.
I didn't read anything, just skipped right to the tests...

It makes it hard for trying to give you advice if you don't answer the questions posted.

1) You were doing 96mph. On what? Highway, 65-70 mph, city, 30-45mph, school zone, get the idea?

2) Citing agency, CHP, County Sheriff, City PD, Fish and Game?

3) Reckless Driving is 25mph over the posted speed limit. What Vehicle Code were you cited under? What actual speed was listed on the ticket?

4) Did you get out of your car when the officer was giving you the citation? Did you notice if there was a camera in the marked, unmarked cruiser? Was it a motor officer?

5) What is your driving record like? How many other citations do you have?

So write back so all of us Couch Potatoes have something to do.

5) What is your driving record like? How many other citations do you have? I have another speeding ticket Nd a stop violation

So write back so all of us Couch Potatoes have something to do.
