IMO, mourn a person's death (if you feel the need) for a couple of days, bury them, and move on. If a hater thread, program or rag column is desired, to each his own. But, I won't be participating in, or viewing them, much past their inception. I tire of such quite rapidly.

I know, but you've certainly gotten people's panties in a wad real quick

It seems to me a lot people spend more time idolizing celebrities than they do in church.

My opinion is just as important as yours.

I'm thankful we have ancestors who were willing to die so that statement is true. We should be idolizing those heroes.

I agree that too much is made out of celebrity deaths. I liked a few of Paul Walker's movies and I'm sad that "Lance" is dead but I'm not losing any sleep whatsoever over it. I do agree that the useless deaths of military overseas is much more tragic but its not like it isn't a volunteer force or anything.

Call me a heartless *******, whatever. I didn't know Paul Walker, he was not my friend and frankly I hate the FaTF franchise. All it did was multiply the number of ricers on the road in the early 2000s tenfold.

Not seeing an answer though. He didn't personally affect me. Like I said I'm not going to sit here and say "good he's dead" like that columnist and its ashame he died but I'll keep going about my day.

+10000000000. Nelson Mandela DID affect hundreds of millions of people all over the world. We can literally say that he made the entire world a better place. He died at 95 though and we all knew it was coming.

The Fast and the Furious is what first made me interested in tuning and modifying cars, which is what I still do to this day. I would say that's a pretty significant impact. And I'm not a ricer, seeing as how I own a Mustang, so the argument that all it did was produce ricers isn't entirely true.

You're in the minority. I was just finishing high school and getting out on my own when the franchise debuted. Pretty much within a few months every econobox in town had a fart can, stick on wing, unpainted ground effects stuck on with 3M tape you name it.

There were 6 movies and only the first 2 and Tokyo drift involved any sort of "rice". All the rest after that (also the point where they got really popular) they focused on an actual story, which were well over 6 years after.

I mentioned the African terrorist in an earlier post.

Also, i'm content with what I have accomplished in my life. I've been at death's door twice in my life and have prepared accordingly.

Finally somebody with some common sense! Nelson Mandela was probably one of the most influential political prisoners to ever live. Even though he wasn't president for long (5yrs I think?) he remained one of the most respected human beings to ever live

As for Paul Walker, no I'm not bawling my eyes out because he passed away. But people are sad over his passing not because they "personally knew him" but because HIS love and passion for cars inspired US to love and cherish our passion for cars as much as he did. It's not about knowing him or him having done anything for us.

+1 it's not about who what where or when, but more about the fact that at the end of the day both Paul and the driver of the car, where someone's son, father and friend. It's not about being famous. Also it was a car accident, it wasnt because he was all coked out or fcked up.. Yeah it sucks that he's gone and it sucks more for those close to him.. But I don't think you would see a military person up there going don't show Paul any respect fck him..(Which is how you are acting) even in battle most military persons do not like the fact they take the life of others even as an enemy...

It's all about showing respect... Which you have shown you have none of..

Famous or not he was someone's son.. At the end of the day it's not funny to joke about someone's death wether it's be a hated person or famous person..

What's sad is you don't even know who the driver of the car was...he wasn't famous enough to make the news...
