Well, if they are anything like the B52, the Air Force should still be flying them into the 2040's. I assume that they're still flying the C5's as well?

That's amazing! Do you build all of the pieces "in house"?

No we don't build all the pieces just the large parts. As for shoehorning it in. You could try but you might have to rename your Stang to pancake.

I'm a balancing tech for hvac and hydronic systems. I work a lot in hospitals, research facilities and any other place that requires a certified balancing report for occupancy of their commercial building. I work m-f 6:30-3 with occasional 48 hour work days. I love what I do even though it can be stressful.

I'm a sr. principal software engineer in the Silicon Valley. I have so much respect for you guys doing the heavy machinery (or any for that matter) still here. Thank god we are still doing this. I know the quality is better than over seas. I did some college work in machine tool and die. Just went a different direction.

Thank you sir... I take great pride in my work. I must say that over 2/3's of the units I machine are exported over seas.

That's good news!

I write software for an American company still builds enterprise class servers out of Texas.

Unfortunately the consumer end is now built in China. Cheap crap, glued together with no serviceable parts.

I won't name the company.

We need more mfg back here. No more crappy Chinese steel and drywall. Sxxt that falls apart in your hands after you buy it.

I'll play! I'm a Sonar Operator and Ship's Team Diver for the Royal Canadian Navy. I really love what I do. I've been in for 4 years now and the best part of my job is that it's different every day. There's adventure everywhere you look and tons of travelling. Being part of a ships company is like having a huge family. We work hard, play hard and look after each other every time were in port together. Anyways, I'm hoping to deploy with my ship in the coming year or so and see what's out there.

Alright... WTF??!?!!??

You missed the quote in dobypaw's post and while you're at it, you may as well just remove every post after Fender868's post... Including this one!

C5's won't be around for much longer. C17 is taking over, and if this plane can't haul something it will most likely go to contract bid like many other things.

Not sure of your joking or serious. I personally like knowing that I worked hard to earn what I have. Much more satisfying.

no, I agree 100%--but ONLY when you enjoy what you are doing! & when you get satisfaction from the hard work!
