Toyota FJ anyone own one

As the title says I am thinking about buying a Toyota FJ cruiser to use while my Shelby is stored for the winter. My 2003 Escape with 255000+ miles on it is getting to a point I will need to replace it.

I have several different vehicles I am looking at and know about them. The FJ is the way I am leaning. I will need to buy used so here starts my questions.

The ones I am finding used are 2007's with 90,000+ miles on them. How does the Toyota engine hold up?
How does the tranny hold up?
What about the rest of the frame and stuff?

Should I just run away from them?

Thanks Mike

I know of two people that have/had an FJ.

One of them was heavily modified for off-road (snorkel, lift, big tires) and was constantly having issues, for about the 3 years he owned it, it was likely at the Toyota dealer for 6 months during those 3 years. The lead Toyota mechanic said that the FJ's don't do well when modified.

The other is 100% stock and he still has it. I think it has about 130k on it and no issues at all.

Thanks I am looking at a few different vehicles the FJ is the hardest to find info on when it comes to the high mile marks.

I have been searching for any information good or bad on these and I am only finding good information. The problems that I have seen don't scare me so I will go look tomorrow and figure out if this is worth it or not. I wish I could afford a Raptor, I guess I could but I would have to give up my Shelby and that will never happen. I have been looking at used F150's but they are sure proud of them.

Thanks
Mike
