Front Wheel Drive Vehicles

Do front wheel drive vehicles put power to the ground better? Or is that just obvious? I ask because my 05 maxima se seems a lot faster than my 99 stang, and they both have almost identical horsepower stock for stock.. the maxima really accelerated faster but the stang usually wins down the line.. Oh yeah and by the way, never buy a 05 maxima, had plenty of suspension/steering problems.. whenever i see someone with a dealer tag on the car i literally want to tell them they just made the worst decision ever.. or maybe its just because im in college and couldnt afford the high upkeep?? idk, but i do know I always wanted a mustang gt and now that i have one i couldnt be any happier.

For moderately powered cars it really don't matter. But get into big hp and a fwd car is going to have wheel hop issues. As dad as the maxima feeling faster we would need details on both cars. Another thing to keep in mind when your talking cars under 200 hp Manuals will generally feel quicker due to less hp loss through the drive train. But it really depends on the car specifics.

I just came from 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 with fail-wheel drive. This is the one everyone poopoohs due to torque steer. The main issue with her was uneven pavement and hard acceleration. Hang on when giving it the beans or you will be in the ditch.

263hp/280tq is a lot pumping through the front wheels, but seriously fun. On that platform motor mounts would generally solve the wheel hop issue.

2014 Mustang GT Deep Impact Blue

2010 Mazdaspeed 3, sold. Absolutely loved this car.
