I feel bad for the person. They should have gradually learned how to drive the car like that before just gunning the crap out of it.

Reminds me of a Matrix Choose the Red Key and your world will change Choose the Black and everything will remain the same. As for learning how to drive these beast of cars that will never happen. Dealers sell cars and trucks to anybody look at the Old folks driving a full size Bus or a camper with out ever having driving anything bigger then a Prius before. If you can afford it you can buy it. I just hope this person learned from it but most likely not.

Well that stinks. You not only mess up your brand new toy but it ends up being news. I feel for them but at least they're not hurt and more importantly didn't hurt someone else.

it is worth reading the comments below the article.....

Good thing no one is hurt. Some people don't belong behind the wheel of a vehicle with that much power. As my dad always said "more money than sense".

Sucks for that guy, I can imagine the sinking feeling in his gut as he tried to get control of his brand new 4,000 plus pound car. I'm guessing the Hellcats are not exactly Miata-like in their handling.

If it hadn't been an hour after he bought it if would have happened at some point. I bet his insurance company won't be happy. Even though I wouldn't have one of these and I hate dodge with all of my being, I still hate to see a car like that get an idiot owner like that...followed by a bang.

Classic case of more money than brains. Anyone looking to buy a car like that should go through a high-performance driving class first.

Some high end luxury/sports car manufacturers will include a driving course with the purchase of the car. I know AMG used to do this, and it seems like a great idea when you see this. I would love to take a driving course, but I'm on a college student budget.

Right now I'm a sailing coach and it's great, but I'm enrolled in 15 credits so my parents only want me to work one day a week so my grades doesn't suffer. If you don't mind me asking, how many hours do you work a week? Nd how may credits are you enrolled in? How much are track days for you? Would I need to take a course or something before jumping on a track?

Depends on the week. Sometimes around 20, this last week I did around 35-40. Same for this upcoming week. About half of it is on Friday nights and weekends though. I go to a private college so it's a little different than most other colleges. Technically I'm taking 4 credits, but that's 4 classes. I usually just tell people how many classes I'm taking instead of how many credits.

And there are track days with groups for beginner, intermediate, advanced ect....
