Triumph Spitfire. In 1983 I bought my wife a 64 TR4A IRS
for her birthday. Had a big bore kit with electric overdrive. Also a a good friend of ours had a Spitfire Fastback Coupe. I think it was a 65, not sure.

Dad always tells that to people when he's working on British cars. Kidding about it of course; but the Germans weren't.

Read about that Trident. Very interesting story. But I wasn't far off when I suspected home built was I? Do you know why the English drink warm beer?

Depends on who you ask. Some say they were more of a tuner company. Using chassis' and powertrain's from other manufacturer's; to buy their own cars, with their body work. Same thing with a three models. Which was the norm for small/new manufacturers back then.

ex-Spitfire owner (1970 MK 3) it wasn't real fast (or reliable) but it's still missed.

fun fact: you could reach back with your hand and touch the rear tire while driving....I only did that once.

WAG that underneath it's a Ford (Fairlane/Galaxy?)

looking at full size photo I see some Vette in it (windshield/hood)

Today is not quite the future that they envisioned but it's cool.
