Not the exact one I wanted but it's a good substitute. Just a model newer. Plus the numbers make it easy to find out what it is.

Excellent. While you're at it. Take a look at the 214 and 212. Very slight body changes, but still just... Gorgeous.

I wonder what it would cost to build a car like that today? I'm sure I could never afford to buy one if they could build one

I have had a couple classics. My first car was a 71 Chevelle. I miss that one.

I had a 53 five window truck that was turned into a street rod. Unfortunately someone liked the truck more than I did. It was stolen.

I also had a 64 1/2 Mustang. That one hurt, not because I lost the car, but the reason why. My dad was a functioning alcoholic and opioid addict. He sold my car as well as a few other things I had stored at his shop. Today he can't remember a single thing.

So yes, classics are expensive.

I have 3 currently. 2 are mostly restored (you're never done ever) and one is still in restoration.

That body style brings to memory the D type Jaguars. One of my most favorite British racing cars. Has to be green of course.

D type's and Testa Rossa's are awesome cars. Combined with the Mercedes 300 SLR and Aston Martin DBR1 are, in my opinion, the 4 great European powerhouses in the 50s. At the time Porsche really didn't make a name for itself, about a decade later.
Probably my favorite race car:

Another friend of mine and I had a detail shop in 70-71 when the first AMX came in. Way to short of a wheel base for all that power. Car loved to swap ends.
