All girls garage

Is anyone else already sick of Rachel De Barros? I'm all for the talent on the show, kudos...but her voice cuts though me...sounds like she's talking with a mouth full of marbles!

The show in my opinion is scraping hard to stay alive. Gimmicks don't work for me. When Jessi Combs left the show to go on to better things, I figured the show was not long for this TV world. Jessi has true mechanical talent, and helped carry the show for its technical part.I recalled her in the Xtreme 4x4 show as a great welder/fabricator/mechanic, until she hurt her back and almost became paralyzed. Bogi's talents are great as well, but the third member (Cristy Lee) appears to be there for reasons unknown to me.

I like the show depending on what they're working on.

Oh.

Many of these Saturday/Sunday morning shows have now gone the way of being more "infomercial"; they get a sponsor, and 75% of that shows content is dedicated to the sponsors product, such as a school to go to and get a repair degree.

I stopped watching the Powerblock when Stacy David left. Even back then it was getting to the point of just whoring product. Xtreme 4x4 was actually a breath of fresh air at the time and massive respect for Jessi and her talents. She was even on Mythbusters for a short period of time when Kari was out on maternity.

I tried to get into the all girls garage show and to get my 6 year old daughter to watch it but... its just not good. I mean none of them are nowadays really but some are at least watchable if you ignore their claims about X product adding Y power to your ride "verified" on the dyno.

I watch Counting Cars. Its scripted as hell and the Count is probably someone whose schtick would get really old really fast but they put out some AMAZING cars and they don't go trying to sell anything.

Scripted or not it promotes and glorifies street racing or a semblance of it. Never watched and never will.

Meh not as much as you would think. Listening to them talk they actually sound pretty against it

I can't think of the name of the show, but there's a guy who does fantastic fabrication of metal; he builds the coolest "stuff" all from old fasioned metal and a hammer. he's built a large truck from an old firetruck, a 3 wheel bike, and a Dodge Van from the late 60's.

You would have had to see the show! He took an old firetruck, shortened it, lowered it, then gave it a bit of the "rat" effect. He's also fabbed a 10 ton truck, a 55 Olds, a 60's type chopper bike, A "cartoon" hot rod, A Packard, a tow truck, and more.
The show is Full Custom Garage: http://www.mavtv.com/shows/full-custom-garage.html

All his work is good old fashioned metal banging and welding.
