Thieves taking packages from front door

Not sure if this is a big issue in your state or not, but it has been in the local news in Florida the past few days; thieves have been driving through neighborhoods, and stealing packages off of peoples front porches. Some thieves are even following the delivery trucks (UPS or FedEx) and waiting until they make their delivery before they strike. Some folks have security cameras and capture it all on film, but the packages and thieves still get away in most cases. Since it's Christmas time, there are many houses and packages for these thieves to choose from.
I have an idea that just might stop a few of these thieves. We use a transmitter such as one we have in our automobiles now that detect your ignition key. We mount this transmitter inside the house by the door. We then have receivers tied to the transmitters frequency that we place in a box labeled "Amazon", or "Fine China". We also place packets of ink (and since I'm in the Christmas mood, I'll make the ink colors red and green) in the box. Then we place a small charge explosive (mild, don't want to hurt anyone) in the box. And since my yard is nice and green, folks like to let their dog dump in it, so I'd offer up to collect the dog droppings and place that into the box, and seal it all up, then place the box outside the door.
The transmitter and receiver would be set to have a range of about 100 yards, so when this is exceeded, BOOOM, the explosive pack goes off, and the ink and dog droppings fly all over the inside of the crooks car, as well as the crook. Even if the crook is on foot instead of a getaway car, the ink and doggy doo still takes effect.

What do you think? Too mean to the crook?

Great idea....but I hope they don't remember where they picked up the package......oh, and if you ever run out of the doggie supplies for your packages, you could always use a dozen eggs instead.
Have you had one taken yet?

Well, it is Christmas and all....besides, the thief might stink of dog doo.

Should the thief come back, the issue now changes to you being threatened; and in the state of Florida, we have a "stand your ground" law in place to allow further action that a homeowner could now take.

Even if there were no dog doo it would still smell like it because only pieces of s**t steal packages off of doorsteps.

I was also thinking of the idea of placing a rabid racoon in the box...but that's cruelty to animals, and I'm against that.

Thieves taking packages from front door

Dogs would be handy in this scenario.
You have to be a ballsy thief to go in a yard with a full grown, German Shepard, Rottweiler, or Pitbull...
You get the idea.

Pick your poison.

___________

I won't say where but it's too cold for this where I live. But in the summer a couple of years ago, an individual saw a purse on the front seat of a car that had the window down. Grabbed the purse jumped into a car and took off with it. Stopping about 50 yards and jumping out of the car and throwing the purse away, back in the car and one mad dash to the exit of the mall.

He probably didn't think it was too funny but everyone one else did. To this day, I wonder how long it took him to get the 25 Gartner Snakes out of his car.
