Finely got home from the AM Show

I gotta say the show was great but way tooo hot for my breathing as well as my Mario. We did have three canape's together for nice shade but it was still hot.
It was nice to drive in with a group and get excellent parking and I do feel bad for a mis-communication on starting time with one of our Forum members, All my fault.
The show at the Best western was well worth the drive up from Florida alone. A lot of Mustangs and a lot of great Mustang people stay there and it is a show all by its self.
Here are a few pictures of the Best Western and some at the show,

Ronnie

The show was fun as always but like you said. The heat was freaking brutal. 108 degrees that day and being out for 8 plus hours was rough. The biggest issue was there was no building to go into too cool down and no misting machines.

Granted it's August and it's going to be hot. Lol. It's ashame the show is not in a cooler month like October!

Great meet-up

It was a really nice meet-up and Mario enjoyed getting all of the lady's attention.
It was just to bad about the heat. My thermometer on my car read 105 degrees at the event.
Mario was fine, I'm the one that had a hard time breathing with my bad lungs.
Don't forget to call me if you get to Florida this year.

I would have enjoyed meeting you Ronnie. After the stories of hell's heat I am glad to some degree that I was stuck at home.

Regardless, I'm sure the drive would have been fun, and the people would have made it worth the trip.

The drive up and back is worth it to me.
My Mario just loves the ride and Rest Areas as well as staying in motels ( Best Westerns only)
I enjoy all but the billions of "RED" traffic signals on the non-interstates.
I went up to Emporia on I-95 and across route 58 to Norfolk and across the Bay Bridge and Tunnel and up route 113
Ain't no way I wanted to be parked on I-95 in Washington and Baltimore for hours and hours.
It was a nice drive even with the red lights which they seem to have set so you get every one "RED"
I'll probably go this way again next year.
The show in the parking lot at the Best Western in Shillington is really nice. It alone is well worth the drive.
Meeting many Forum members was also well worth the drive.
I'm still very happy I went and I'll do it again next year if my health lets me.
Hope to see you there.
Ronnie

If you drive up next year I may have to plan to follow you up.

If I get my truck back together again I will put the Mustang on a trailer. I don't really care for riding the clutch for hours and hours in red light land.

Glad you made it safe to and from the show Ronnie.

If it makes you feel any better, it was just as hot here in Florida!

Mario say's

Hey Aaron,
I'm sure you don't want to follow Ronnie up because he makes me stop in all of the rest areas.
He stops about half way to stay in a Best Western. Usually Emporia Virginia.

must avoid impulse to post "if you had a v8 it wouldn't have taken so long"

JK!

glad ya had fun, I saw in your expense report you got over 30 mpg...holy fuel sipper. That is amazing. fwiw in my 2012 MT V6 with 3.31 I've never hit 27. I love what Ford (and other mfrs) can do with performance/mpg nowadays.

It would have taken longer because I would have had to stop for gas way more often.

It was a good time anyway

Hi Mud,
Did you get down to the show??
There were a lot of Connecticut license plates there.
If not, you should try to plan coming nest year. It was hot as heck but still a great "MUSTANG ONLY" event.

I would love to go to the show, unfortunately it is just too long of a drive from Colorado. I would have to bring my half corgi half beagle so that she could hang out with Mario.

Get out of the basement and step outside. There's a gorgeous natural form of light called the sun that is amazing.

I stopped going to the parks here in Central Florida for reasons of crowds. Nothing I dislike more then to stand in line to get onto an attraction behind some guy who thinks its manly to stink/not use deodorant.

Now, the wife and I find a nice secluded camp site, borrow our sons dogs, and enjoy the quiet outdoors.

The crowds at the American Muscle show are really spread out and not a problem. Even the food vendors don't have the extremly long lines because American Muscle has a lot of them now.( Not like the first yer) I got a slice of Pizza to die for-It was sooooo good.
Mario liked it too.
This event with all of the Mustangs and people as well as all of the vendors showing products does not feel like a Disney Park and there is actually room for more.
Only the blistering heat was the problem and that could be remedied by moving it to September or early October, (Mid September would be best)
I think there would actually be more Mustang in a September event.
Ronnie

Sometime rather than July/August I would consider going.

A bonus picture of my barn/tractor attached. Barn is way in background. My property was an egg farm at one time

I would consider the trip for a 2 1/2 - 3 day show. A 1400 mile round trip for one day is a lot to ask. That is just my opinion.

Believe me when I say it is worth the drive,
I have to drive around Washington and Baltimore and from Emporia Virginia on up it is """NOT""" interstate but a highway with traffic signals but moves along way better then I-95 does around the city's I mentioned.
My round trip is a little over 2,000 miles and still worth the drive,
Even with the heat this year I still had a nice time.
I do like driving my Mustang and if I ever can hit the stupid Florida Lotto, Me and Mario will zig-zag across America in my Mustang.
