I serve too, and you pretty much decide on what you get.

I can go into an evening and say, "I want to earn $80 tonight" and do a good job, upsell, and raise your PPA, and you'll do it.

If you go in and are just like, "I don't want to be here, I wanna go home." Expect 10% at the most.

I make good money at the crab shack, just the business is slwo now and everyone's hours are cut, so I am just not working as much...oh well.

Tomorrow is my first night of actually serving. Past two days I've been training, tomorrow I'll get a couple of tables during lunch and it'll gradually pick up until next Tuesday when I'll be a full-blown ChiliHead (Chili's corny name for their employees)

I make bout 250 a week doing carpentry and other work if I work every day. Most of the time I take a day off to get stuff done so i make about 180 a week, somewhere around there. Not bad for a job I can work whenever. I can call in at 8 and say I dont' want to work that day and he's like "ok, no problem"

yeah waiting tables is what i do right now. i make about 500-600 every 2 weeks, only working the maximum of 24hrs a week. thats comparable to my cousin who works ar little ceasers, 60 hrs a week min wage, bustin his ***. and i still make more. i agree with racergirl, the better your attitude, the better tips will be. i work with mainly old people(75% of our customers) and no matter what you do they leave you like 10%. they think thats the maximum. they get 10% discount at our resturant , and that goes to our tips(if they charge it) which i think is bogus, i dont think you should get discounts anywhere for just being old. like yay you made it past 55, you now get lost of money off everything, so you can buy RV's and live at casinos and travel and do old people things. and they whine like no other, but i wont rant tonight. i think its hella fun(most of the time) and i always have spending money. i get about 250 for each check(every 2 weeks) and that goes towards bills, the rest, 700$, is for fun fun fun. parts, gambling, savings for new cars, etc. since our resturant is connected to a department store, we make the most business during the holidays, i just worked 7 days straight till the 25th and made 700 in tips. you cant beat that.

Same here. I usually work 10 hours a week because of school. So 20 hour paychecks.
