New stable mate for the GT! New Fusion Platinum.

We were just across the state for our grandson’s last baseball game of the season......when I picked up a local paper....and just happened to turn to a local Ford dealer’s ad.
We have been interested in a Fusion, and wanted a Platinum in order to get all of the neat tech features, but just could not swing it financially.....however.....
The ad featured a brand new 2017 Fusion Platinum with a MSRP of $40,435 for $29,395!!! It was the exact color we wanted (Platinum Tri Coat Metallic White) and the Cocoa and Brown interior was breathtaking! The interior quality is very Lexus-like and even the complete dash and console are stitched leather. The 2.0 EcoBoost and AWD was a bonus as well.
Needless to say, we fell in love with it and did the deal in less than a couple of hours, then drove it to our grandson’s baseball game, and then home the 300 miles.
I actually do think it corners and steers better than my non-PP 2015 GT.....and, for it being my wife’s car, all the safety tech etc. is much appreciated.

Thanks! I could not believe all of the rebates currently active on the 2017 Fusion, and they threw in the entire front of the car and the outside mirrors done with clear bra......no more rock chips for me!
You just don’t see a nearly $12,000 new car discount in today’s market.....It’s kind of funny, that when you choose the Platinum, there is literally only a cargo net to chose as an option. Given EVERYTHING Ford included in this up-market car, you think they would have thrown in the cargo net, right?

Lol right?! That’s crazy. I looked at one when I was having work done on one of our cars. They really are great cars and at that price, totally worth it. I’ve tried several times to talk my wife into getting one lol.

Damn, that is a crazy good deal! Looks like it was just meant to be, and those Fusions really are great cars. New "everyman" cars these days are like $100k cars from 10 years ago, its nuts.

Nicer AND faster. When you delve into the 0 to 60 times of the so-called muscle cars of the late 60’s and early 70’s.........for instance the 1969 Boss 302, with a 0 to 60 time of 8.1 seconds, and a top speed of only about 125 mph.....I am NOT kidding!
1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302, 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429, and 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351 - The Boss Squad - Motor Trend Classic
The little 2.0 liter Fusion EcoBoost beats the Boss 302 to 60 mph (6.9!!)....and for sure beats it in lateral G’s and braking by a much bigger percentage, I am sure!
It’s funny to look at a 2 liter bottle of Pepsi and think THAT is the displacement of our engine.....
